NEWS FLASH

Maribor Airport welcomed Ethiopian Airlines’ five-year-old 343-seat Airbus A350-900 aircraft over the weekend, which arrived to pick up officials and competitors who took part in the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival hosted by the city. The aircraft operated its scheduled service between Addis Ababa and Paris, before being deployed on the Maribor charter, after which it followed with the scheduled return between the French capital and its hub in Ethiopia. The A350’s arrival in Maribor is not the first time the type had landed in Slovenia. In 2014, as part of Airbus tests on the aircraft’s breaking system in wet conditions, the type landed in Ljubljana.

watched it take off. a beauty ... never before has an A350 touched down at MBX. was quite a spectacle, especially since it was Ethiopian. AF wouldn't have been so extravagant.

Nice to see Maribor can handle an A350.

Nice indeed, now they do not need that spatial plan for runway extension, when an a350 can land at and depart mbx and interconti flights can be established 😀
