Air Serbia to boost Zurich operations

NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia plans to increase its flights to Zurich over the coming winter season, with the carrier to operate three daily flights between the two cities on select days. The airline will maintain a total of seventeen weekly flights between the two cities, up from fourteen weekly during the 2022/23 winter season. The carrier will run two daily flights each day, with a third daily service on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Operations will be maintained with a mix of Airbus A320-family, Boeing 737-800 and Embraer aircraft. The 2023/24 winter season begins on October 29.

Comparing to last winter (around 300 weekly rotations) this wintee they will have around 450 weekly rotations! 50% more flights! Congrats

Is this a Joke! Few days ago they cancelled five weekend (23 and 24 September) flights on this line! They moved my flight from 0700 Hrs to 1800 Hrs or to take flight via Madrid! On the end I took my money back! And not just this, they rented some strange companis from Baltic and Germany, to flight on this line! I am Serbian who live in Zurich and situacion with Air Serbia on this line is below any standard!

Let's see if Wizz Air responds to all this growth even more. In Q3 2023 Serbia was their 13th largest market which grew by 36%. Only markets that grew more were Albania with 46%, UAE 124%, Israel 46% and Cyprus with 62%.

With Belgrade's offer becoming increasingly more competitive, smaller regional airports will have a harder time keeping up. We've all seen what happened in Tuzla.

The more the merrier. My only concern (and I see that I am not the only one) is that they are once again growing too fast. Hopefully both JU and BEG will prepare in time for the winter season.

BEG has enough time now since JU actually loaded all these extra flights on time. If they are the cause of future delays then they will have no one but themselves to blame.

Not only are there too many AS haters here but people who don't fly enough to know the facts about flying. The number one rule of flying is that if your flight leaves on time you are fortunate. And that's worldwide not just at Belgrade.
The second rule of flying is that there are serious airlines like Air Serbia or Jet Blue , or Ryannair- and airlines like Croatian Airlines or Wizz Air. The latter two serve the interests of a select few people and managers that profit greatly from a poor product disguised as a good deal.
