NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia will operate a one-off charter flight between Belgrade and Manila. The carrier will deploy its Airbus A330-200 aircraft to the Philippine capital to pick up Serbia’s national basketball team, which will play in the World Cup final against Germany this Sunday. The 250-seat aircraft, registered YU-ARC, will be used on the occasion. In order to avoid disruption to its scheduled long-haul network, the carrier will wet-lease a Wamos Air A330-300 aircraft (registered EC-NOF) for its Monday service to New York, as the carrier’s other A330-200 (registered YU-ARB) will be flying to Chicago.
Belgrade - Manila (JU10), September 10 (all times local)
Manila - Belgrade (JU11), September 11 (all times local)
Changes to the schedule remain possible
Let's hope JU11 carries a lot of gold on the way back!

DeleteManila and Filipino spotters... get your cameras ready!
ReplyDeleteI'm ready!
DeleteGood luck team Serbia!! Either way you surpassed my expectations 😀🇷🇸🏆
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Will this beat the Belgrade-Los Angeles flight they operated during Covid which was their longest nonstop flight in history?
ReplyDeleteNp, BEG-LAX is slightly longer than BEG-MNL
DeleteNo. BEG-LAX was 633km longer.
DeleteJU10;))
ReplyDeleteI just thought it was a charter with tourists. Good luck boys ! 🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸
ReplyDeleteFirst ever direct flight between Serbia (and former Yugoslavia) and the Phillippines! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteIf JU marketing was smart... they would turn this into a story... which it is... but they're regrettably pathetic... as always... many missed opportunities to promote the airline.
DeleteOther people marketing them better than own staff
DeleteLol...Airserbia and marketing they wouldnt know what that is if it hit them in the face
DeleteLooks like they do know marketing:

Jedna lasta ne čini proleće,mora to bolje, agresivnije, nalik na svetske kompanije, sve to mlako i nedovoljno,a zelim im sve najbolje

DeleteThis is actually very nice, indeed! I hadn’t seen this video obviously and am very, very impressed. Well done, AS. Also, the flight attendants in the video look very natural and camera-friendly. Good job.
Marketing is often waste of money and not the reason why people choose an airline . No need to waste money on marketing . Smart JU decision
DeleteIs that why Emirates, Turkish Airlines etc. spend millions each year on marketing? Is it because they are stupid?
DeleteFYI Air Serbia is actually placing ads all over Belgrade so obviously they seem to think marketing is important enough.
@12:31 everyone in the world knows and buys coca cola yet they still spend nearly 1 billion dollars each year in advertising.
Deleteetihad/ qatar/ emirates still spend millions and does global advertising.
turkish airlines spends millions to be the main sponsor of Euroleague basketball. yes advertising matters and has an effect.
Don’t worry about marketing, this flight will be well exploited for marketing purposes.
Deletenot only airline experts on this site, but also marketing experts...
DeleteSo, they covered it very well on the social medias. I follow them on Instagram and there were some very nice pics and videos.
DeleteHang on they are trying though not sure if this guys is their marketing staff but this is excellent i love it https://twitter.com/Pedjijatar/status/1700196754128318817?s=20

DeleteI hope we get a good spotters video of it landing in Manila on Youtube !
ReplyDeleteBecause if you have no film or images it never happened .
Spotter here we'll wait
DeleteManila spotter here! Thanks for the heads up! Will definitely spot it!
ReplyDeletePhoto and video links will be posted here and on the comment section of the post in Facebook and Twitter.
Thank you sir! I am living in North America and have to say the nicest people that I met are Philipinos! Wish you all the best and thanks one more time!
DeleteThank you very much! Very kind of you! All the best and looking forward.

DeleteGreat shot and explanation! Thanks a lot!
Deleteif the vamos A330 is always so available why dont they try to dry lease that A330 then?
ReplyDeleteBecause their Airbus 330 is not grounded but often flies Vamos-Tamos!
DeleteLoool good one
DeleteUhm, I mean nice for the Serbian team and everything, but they basically choose to downgrade their passengers to some other airline with a so-so product. As a passenger on this flight to JFK I wouldn't be particularly overjoyed.
ReplyDeleteEC-NOF has a better hard product than both YU-ARB and YU-ARC. You can see the interior online.
DeleteThere's always something to brag about... look at the bright side of life, people, and your life will be much better.
DeleteAnd use the ongoing offer and fly out somewhere nice. I recommend Malaga or Sicily. Once you do something nice to yourself, you'll feel better and you'll be happy
Are there organised charters for fans to Manilla?
ReplyDeleteNo. A visa is required to enter the Philippines and it takes at least 5 days to be issued and it takes probably a month to get all the documents required (including local police clearance translated into English)!
DeleteCmon let players visit the Boracay or Palawan to experience the beautiful beach of Philippines.
ReplyDeleteIs it allowed to take 3 pilots and some cabin crew not working on the inbound flight so they will work on the way back to BEG? Don't think so.
ReplyDeleteIt is allowed. They are deadheading and then have 12 hour rest in Manila.
ReplyDeleteActually crew operating the return flight has been flown to Manila beforehand. Air Serbia shared an image of them at the World Cup final
ReplyDeleteThe airplane was supposed to only have a 2 hr turnaround in MNL (see schedule posted by admin). So the 12 hr rest wouldn't be possible
ReplyDeleteThe returning crew was in Manila already. Check out the social medias
