Air Montenegro to launch new Podgorica service

NEWS FLASH

Air Montenegro will commence a new scheduled service between Podgorica and Rome this coming winter season. The airline will inaugurate two weekly flights between the two capitals, on Mondays and Fridays, starting December 15. Further flight details can be viewed here. Montenegro’s former national airline, Montenegro Airlines, maintained the route until the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. Furthermore, Alitalia also operated flights between the two until the start of the global health emergency. Wizz Air, which runs operations between the Montenegrin and Italian capitals, announced recently it would downgrade the service to seasonal summer flights, meaning it won’t operate between the two this winter but has said it will return in 2024. Last year, a total 30.660 passengers travelled on the route. Figures peaked in 2018 when 46.298 travellers commuted between the two capitals.

Why should we celebrate a new route when it is being operated by a useless airline with no future?
