NEWS FLASH

Canada’s Air Transat plans to increase frequencies on its seasonal summer flights between Toronto and Zagreb next year. The carrier will resume services between the two cities on May 4 with a one weekly rotation, increasing to two weekly from June 13, three weekly from June 18 and four weekly from June 23. Four weekly services will be maintained during the peak summer month until the very end of September, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays (departing Toronto). It will mark the first time the carrier has scheduled four weekly flights on the Zagreb route instead of the usual three. Changes at this early stage remain possible. All flights will be operated by the carrier’s 332-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

if the XLR has close to the range it listed then yes it can fly from ZAG to Toronto easily. the A321LR can also reach toronto based on a straight line flight from ZAG.

Once they get the A321XLR, Zagreb should become daily - if the range is close to the listing number

They did the same announcement early last year and then they suspended all flights in May and October this year . Such a garbage airline. They seem to only fly when flights are full otherwise they just cxl.

Zagreb should become daily with A330. Do not forget that in 2019 there was 4 weekly flights with AirCanada Rouge and 3 weekly with Transat, so it was daily already.

This is a major development because it shows to other airlines like DL that they can do really well in ZAG.
    MZLZ should work on ATL-ZAG

No airlines that size cares to fly to super seasonal destination. DBV and SPU are very different, but ZAG has no much potential.

Air Transat must know "Split" is very important for many Catholics who are going to Medugorje (Bosnia & Herzegovina) where Our Lady has came for 42 years ! Mostar is near from Medugorje but there isn't any Air Transat. That's too bad for millions Catholics who stay with Our Lady of Medugorje which is a small village but there are so many people all year because they come from every where in the whole world ! For me, I have to take a flight Dublin or Amsterdam from Toronto(Air Transat) and transfer another "Aer Lingus (Irland)" or KLM(Nederland) flight which is going to Split in April or May and take a international bus goes to Medugorje. My American friends have to go Frankfurt (Germany) or Ankara (Turkey) or Athens (Greece) and transfer a flight to go Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). After they take a bus or taxi to going in Medugorje ! It takes 2~3~4 days.... Why Air Transat doesn't think about Catholics? " Split" or " Mostar" are the most important places for the CATHOLICS who are going the most beautiful village Medugorje....

"Why Air Transat doesn't think about Catholics?"

Because this market is getting smaller; the number of people delusional enough to believe the Medjugorje scam is decreasing every year.

332 seats on an A330-200 is absolutely insane.

LOL. It's majority tourists, and a portion of diaspora. Transat sells travel packages to Dubrovnik and Split with these flights.

If it was majority tourists they would likely fly to DBV just like United and sell packages to visit Split and Zagreb. More likely majority are VFR.

Majority of the flights have been operated with 375 seater 333 version this year. Likely to be the same next year too.

Good morning from Toronto. Air Transat announced but cancelled flights to Split years ago. Did TS consider (re)starting any other destination in ex Yu?

They did but it was before covid and I think they realized the 330 would not work take off from SPU... But 321XLRs would be great for them.
