NEWS FLASH
Sarajevo Airport handled 144.013 travellers in September, ending five consecutive months of declining passenger figures. The airport welcomed 189 passengers more than the same month last year. The small growth was achieved despite the airport seeing a notable decline in available capacity of 11.4% on twelve months ago. During the first three quarters, Sarajevo Airport welcomed 1.082.519 passengers through its doors, down 5.4% on last year, but an improvement of 17.3% on the pre-pandemic 2019.
Sarajevo’s largest airlines by scheduled seat capacity, September 2023
So they had a bit less pax than LJU in Sep (145.413)
ReplyDeleteYes. But don't forget: all B&H airports had in total 220.000 pax in september 2023.
DeleteAnd SJJ will finish the year clear of LJU by at least 150-200k
Deletequestionable
DeleteTaking into consideration that difference in capacity, that would mean LF has significantly improved on Sarajevo flights or that Wizz Air really had terrible loads in Sarajevo last year.
ReplyDeletedont tell that the fanboys
DeleteW6 LF was very bad. Beauvais was my flight 2022 - 50 peoples, no potencial, only diaspora, only bosnian citizens....
DeleteW6 LF was the first thing I thought. Must have been very poor and the yield was trash.
Delete@16:27. is bosnia really price sensitvie? 4 carriers on the list are legacy not low cost. the top 2 are expensive legacy carriers
DeleteIt's not but people like to trash talk it. It's not any worse than SKP, TGD, SPU etc
Deleteits not. they only fly when the tickes are expensive
DeleteTop airlines: Star Alliance (mostly LH Group) and airlines flying to Turkiye and ME.
ReplyDeleteany ME flights during winter?

Sept 2013 seat capacity on airlines going to destinations in the:
DeleteWest (OS, LH, OU): 42.098
East (other 6 on the list): 87.950
Destinations east of Sarajevo lead by more than two to one seat capacity. Helps explain why regular (Euro) Wizz failed but Wizz Abu Dhabi continues.
Wizz Abu Dhabi is also suspending flights to Sarajevo in two weeks.
DeleteWith no plans to resume..
DeleteBy the way, this year the whole country will serve 2 million passengers. At least I think so, but after the collapse of TZL..?
ReplyDeletenow krstic company for dojcland...
DeleteMaybe one day another airline will open a base lol
ReplyDeleteDon't worry...it will be soon! Well done Sarajevo! Good score!
