TUI in talks over Maribor maintenance base

NEWS FLASH

TUI Airlines Engineering, the maintenance and engineering division of TUI Airlines Group, has held talks with the Slovenian government over the possibility of building and operating a maintenance base at Maribor’s Edvard Rusjan Airport. Talks between the two sides were held this Tuesday, just days after the government announced it had failed to reach an agreement with another company over the concession of Maribor Airport. TUI Airlines Engineering provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services to the airline group's combined fleet of over 140 aircraft. Talks were held with the Ministry for Infrastructure.

Meh, what would be really viable is Maribor as a base for Ryanair and other low-fare airlines

Not a bad idea, actually this is a brilliant solution for MBX, but with this government I don't see it possible. Even if the government changes nothing will change.

Not going to happen. The Ministry of infrastructure will block any serious attempt.
