NEWS FLASH

The government of the Tuzla Canton in Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced it will launch a public call to subsidise airlines that launch flights from the city. It has allocated roughly 1.27 million euros in subsidies. “By subsidising airlines, we want to restore routes that were discontinued with the departure of Wizz Air. We have held discussions and made agreements with several airlines. We do not anticipate spending all the funds, but we want to share the risk. A public call for airlines will be issues in the coming days where all the details will be defined”, the Prime Minister of the Tuzla Canton, Irfan Halilagić, said.

No chance. They are a domestic ATR operator in Sweden. It makes no sense for them to move into the international scene with Tuzla of all places. Do you realise how far it is between Sweden and Tuzla on an ATR? I can't think of a less suitable aircraft type.

Really not sure what Sarajevo is waiting for as well? I find it hard to believe RyanAir wouldn’t succeed with a 1 or 2 aircraft base? Cheap fares is what Bosnia in general needs.
