NEWS FLASH

Croatia Airlines inaugurated seasonal winter flights between Zadar and Munich yesterday, making it the carrier’s only international service from the coastal city. It will be maintained twice per week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with the Dash 8 aircraft. The upkeep of the route is subsidies by local stakeholders. “We are delighted that together with the Zadar County Tourist Board, the Zadar Tourist Board and Zadar Airport we have established this new service and provided passengers a nonstop link to Europe during the winter period. We are confident passengers will utilise this new opportunity to travel and that this joint product will contribute to the development of the tourist potential of the Zadar County and an even more successful operation of Zadar Airport”, Croatia Airlines’ Head of Sales, Marija Pavić, said. The General Manager of Zadar Airport, Josip Klišmanić, noted, “Expanding the network of destinations in the winter season is Zadar Airport’s strategic goal. We are extremely glad that our national airline Croatia Airlines and the county Tourist Board have assisted us in achieving this goal. We hope that the introduction of the Zadar - Munich service during the winter is only the beginning”. Croatia Airlines now maintains nonstop flights from Zagreb, Split, Zadar, Osijek, Brač, Dubrovnik and Rijeka to Munich, the latter three being operated only during the summer.

    What was the load factor? It will be interesting to see what they can do when their only option will be a 114 seater

      LF MUC ZAD 9, ZAD MUC 56, as reported locally. As of yday it was not possible to book online ticket from ZAD thru final destination beyond MUC. On CA or LH site. Crazy.

    I strongly object to Minken only. We need much more Vrankvurt as well. With Minken only from every village we can only sing Danke Bayern, we need more Vrankvurt to be able to sing Danke Deutschland. During breaks of ass kissing.

    Obviously Zadar to the like of Paris, London, Rome, Copenhagen etc... would be better in winter. Dream on boys. Munich was the obvious destination to get some subsidies for. There is a reason FR say goodbye in winter.

      For heaven's sake, are you for real? Air Serbia, which started 10 years ago only, on the market 4 million smaller than croatian, lower yielding and more price sensitive, without tourists from distant markets, with diaspora approximately the size of croatian, and with no coast and no summer tourism, operates double bigger fleet with triple more destinations, they operate A330 to New York, Chicago and China, and planning more, and you are proud of OU and you love logo of organization that OU serves as humiliated and pathetic feeder? No comment.

      The airline is taking brand new A220s, possibly the newest aircraft on the market, but still has crazy brains. Don't you have another job, the fact that you had a bad time while you worked there is none of our work.

      The planes cost 500 million, have more capacity than more than half of the airline's fleet while Croatia Airlines has an appaling 65% load factor in SUMMER. And you think that is a saviour for them?

      @19.50
      The airline is "taking" nothing. The airline is changing bigger OWN planes for smaller LEASED ones. After 30 years of operations, with tourism, diaspora and geopolitical position Croatia has, they should have been "taking" A350's, not A220's to continue being pathetic feeder and humiliated servant. Just btw, I had excellent time in OU, we were all full of enthusiasm and atmosphere in the company was fantastic, and your prejudice of me "having bad time" there is equally wrong as your advocating of aparatchiks and uhljebs who are ruining OU for long time already.

    CA ima lošu upravljačku i vlasničku strukturu što za sobom nosi loše poslovne poteze. Umjesto da nabave neki avion za "prekobarske" letove i stvaraju neku dodanu vrijednost, oni hrane luftić kompaniju.
