NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia has made some changes to its complimentary economy short-haul meal offer. The carrier has opted to serve passengers a more substantial snack on flights up to two hours, replacing the previous single cookie that was offered on flights. As was the case in the past, the snack comes with a complimentary bottle of water.

Earlier this year, the airline rolled out a lunch pack on longer intra-European sectors, made up of a sandwich, sweet and water.

Passengers have the option to purchase other snacks and beverages on all flights. Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiri Marek, recently said, “We will definitely continue working on improving the soft product. One thing is what you want and wish to do, and the other is what your suppliers can deliver. That is one of the biggest bottlenecks that we want to address but that is something that cannot happen overnight”.

In business class, the Serbian carrier recently made some improvements to its meal presentation, reintroducing glassware for all types of drinks following a prolonged period, where beverages were served in plastic cups.

Very good news as that one Noblica was shameful. This is much better now.
Btw the muffin was dropped and was replaced with a wet wipe.

It would be still nice if they would offer one extra drink (e.g. tea or coffee), it wouldn't cost them that much. And the pretzels instead of cookie, I probably wouldn't eat that but I guess it's fine to have a change.

I flew Jetblue earlier this year, Washington Reagan to Boston Logan, one hour flight, and got free soft drink and snack (selection out of 4, sweet and salty), economy of course. Had AA ticket, but the service was the same for all pax

Aegean serves a sandwich, chocolate and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks in economy for flights under 1h 30min and for longer flights they serve hotmeals instead of sandwich, probably the best in Europe

It is generally not very expensive to have such a ham and cheese sandwich + cookie and people will always appreciate it. Comes very handy for morning flights when your tummy is usually empty :D
Either way, in Europe we are all very accostumed now to not receive anything "for free" in the plane and we eat in McDonalds or Subway or at the airport like many others do.
It is a good addition so well done, Air Serbia :)

I was in the Air Serbia lounge a few days ago and it was my impression that the buffet has improved a lot to what it was. I never saw so many options available. I was there at around midday. Found it funny that the cooks, which I saw come out of the kitchen from time to time were all Asian.

Well I think this is good. I fly Croatia Airlines quite a bit and I cannot understand why they degraded catering service so much. The business class meal is like the box in this photo. The only difference is that it is served on a tray!

If anyone at JU is reading this, please tell your website team to return the page about onboard experience/meals. Since the redesign, there is no longer a page where you can view menus for long haul flights or the Elevate Deli & Bat menu

Agree, while they are at it they can return the page where you could see how many Etihad Guest points you need for an award ticket for each route. That is no longer available either.

They should also provide wetnaps and napkins with those snacks since you eat them with your hands, plus they could brand them...

It's about time full service Airlines such as OU, JU and Lufthansa group go back to how things were 20 years ago with inflight service. There is nothing to distinguish them between low cost Airlines nowadays, the service has deteriorated so much!

Ou and lh are one of the worst airlines in srar alliance. Disgusting service with these snacks which are costing probably 5 cents for them to buy. Only normal airline for i traeurope flights is TK

I wouldn't call it "a Meal service". There is no meal, it is just a small bag of snack and small bottle of water. More apropriate is to call it a Complimentary service.
