Air Serbia to take delivery of eighth ATR

NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia is set to take delivery of its eighth ATR72-600 aircraft in the coming weeks with the turboprop currently being painted in the airline's livery (pictured). The eight-year-old plane, formerly operated by Azul, will be registered YU-ASF. Air Serbia concluded an agreement with Nordic Aviation Capital for the dry-lease of three ATR72-600s, which will bring the airline's turboprop fleet up to ten aircraft. All deliveries are expected in the coming months. Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said last year, “The optimal size of the ATR72 fleet, I would say, is ten because then you can start benefiting from some economies of scale. The ATRs perform extremely well; they are extremely profitable. We went through a massive project and completely grounded the ATR72-200s and -500s, replacing them with the -600s instead. We will continue to grow this regional fleet as it is important for higher frequencies and improving hub connectivity and ultimately helps to expand long-haul".

well, Brac once a week seasonally on the weekend, that is a no-brainer. how could that not work?

As someone who drives from Maribor to Zagreb to get anywhere (prices in Graz are abnormal) I would certainly use the route- and I'm not alone

Some are joking here, but considering that they covered everything else in exYu, Portorož, Maribor, Brač and domestic Serbian flights are all that left to do. Osijek and Tuzla are off as they are too close.

Nis is closer then Tuzla, but there are connection flights

Great, ATR ultimately helps to expand long-haul. Why stop at 10, Air Serbia should order more ATRs to enable long-haul expansion to even more countries.

They will have more than 10 ATR's in the future. Marek was talking about this and next couple years.

    2. They will definitely grow more than 10. But after they grow the long haul routes and will definitely help when the introduce the 2nd daily jfk route

2nd daily to JFK? They barely have passangers for 2 weekly in winter time :)

16:18 Mr Slav.Man is talking about the summer period, where Air Serbia, if you don't know, operates daily flights to JFK.

In the summer that is, to add to my reply.

thanks to previos commenter yes I meant for summer season. but also for @16:18 yes JU carries less in the winter than the summer season, but because it operates less flights. however the flights it does operate have about 80% passanger load on the JFK route. which shows there is positive signs to increase frequency. thats what was reported by ex-yu in july 2023.

Why YU-ASF, not YU-ASE? If someone knows. YU-ASC has already been skipped.

100 % LF u naj sporijem mesecu u godini je ravno naučno-fantastici. Dobar posao radi JU u SJJ,a dolaskom novih ATR SJJ sigurno dobija noćne letove.
