NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia has signed a multi-year early renewal agreement with Sabre, which will see the Serbian carrier continue to utilise Sabre’s Passenger Service System (PSS), to which it transitioned to between 2014 and 2017 by replacing Amadeus’ PSS, and commit to utilising Sabre’s Pricing and Revenue Optimisation suite of solutions. The adoption of Sabre’s Pricing and Revenue Optimisation represents a step forward in the way Air Serbia manages its revenue and optimises its inventory and network. Sabre’s Revenue Optimiser uses sophisticated models to enable more strategic and timely decision-making processes. This solution, combined with Sabre’s Market Intelligence offers Air Serbia comprehensive insights and advanced data analysis across a wide range of critical functions such as network planning, revenue management and marketing. This integration is expected to significantly enhance Air Serbia’s intelligence in revenue optimisation and retailing, thereby supporting its growth trajectory and competitive positioning in the global market. Air Serbia’s Head of Revenue Management, Maša Vasović, said, “The implementation of Sabre’s advanced technology solutions is crucial for achieving our strategic goals, enabling us to optimise revenue and expand our market presence effectively”.

So this software is going to do their network planning?

Analysis of data does not mean network planning. You still need human intervention for that.

Is this in any way related to their online check-in? When will that finally be sorted out? When will we be able to check-in online on all airports? It is really a nonsense to have to wait in huge line just to check-in, even if you do not have check-in luggage. I have no idea why this is so and what is required to get this implemented, but it is very annoying.

It's not only Air Serbia, you can't check in online with Wizzair too on some flights, so it's not related to AS specifically. IDK , maybe it's security issue for specific airports and flights.

No it's not a security issue for specific airports and flights (except maybe TLV), it's an airline specific issue.
And it needs to be addressed.

It's not an airline specific issue. For example there is no online check in from Podgorica and Tivat airports on any airline.

“Step forward”… they were forced by Etihad to switch from Amadeus (of which Jat was one of the founders in Serbia) to Sabre and after they were “abandonded” by Etihad, Etihad switched to Amadeus. All in all, huge waste of resources and money.

I’ve bought several Air Serbia tickets online and there was no possibility to ass frequent flyer number (Etihad guest) neither during the purchase of the ticket nor afterwards, by clicking on “my reservation”/insert frequent flyer number. Each time I had to call JU and dictate the numbers. Does it have to do anything with Sabre 👀
