Wizz Abu Dhabi reduces Sarajevo service

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has further reduced planned operations between the Emirati capital and Sarajevo this summer season. Over the past week, the airline removed an additional weekly rotation from its schedule from May onwards for a total of four weekly flights this summer. Last year, the carrier maintained daily operations between the two cities, with exception to April and June when there were six weekly flights. Wizz Air faces no competition between the two cities. All flights are scheduled to be operated by the 239-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft. Despite the reduction, Sarajevo Airport’s Middle East capacity will grow 27.6% this summer season, with Air Arabia restoring operations between Sharjah and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital after several years, Flyadeal inaugurating operations from Jeddah, and Flynas and Qatar Airways increasing frequencies.

      They changed the neos before year or two already. They had problem with sand and desert condition.

      Particularly Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, as the entire fleet was A321neo. They've swapped most of the fleet out for A321ceos currently, which should be having a significant negative impact on the financial performance as most of the routes are quite long.

    Don't they get subsidies for this route? I remember SJJ awarded them for Abu Dhabi flights.

      Oh yes they did get subsidies for Abu Dhabi. In the first round. They also got subsidies to launch Rome,.

      No they didn't, the papers are clear. There's no info on Rome, that's just data obtained by the other portal and some Bosnian media, W6 confirmed 3 destinations in Italy so someone deducted it's Rome, bit now they've been delayed because of the engines.

    Wizz Air got three new A321neos last week and they are already in operation. Third A320neo is being prepared to return to operations as well, as of right now 43 A321neos are grounded.
