NEWS FLASH

United Airlines, which maintains seasonal summer flights between Newark and Dubrovnik, has added its designator code and flight numbers onto services operated by Croatia Airlines, its fellow Star Alliance member, between Dubrovnik and Zagreb. It includes three weekly flights from Dubrovnik, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and two weekly rotations from Zagreb, on Thursdays and Saturdays. The days correspond to the operating days of United’s Dubrovnik service. As a result, United now has its codes on twelve of Croatia Airlines' operated routes. On the other hand, the Croatian carrier does not codeshare on any of its United’s flights.

United codeshare flights operated by Croatia Airlines: Zagreb - Amsterdam, Brussels, Dubrovnik, Frankfurt, Paris, London Heathrow, Munich, Zurich; Dubrovnik - Frankfurt, Zagreb; Split - Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Munich.

Crazy that OU does not codeshare on a single United flight, especially DBV-EWR.

@12:13 that's nonsense because they don't codeshare on any Lufthansa flights to America either. Check your facts before making comments.

It's not nonsense at all. They funnel the most transfer passengers to the United States via Frankfurt and Munich. Perhaps if they had a codeshare with United, not so many would fly via Frankfurt and Munich. In fact, OU has no codeshare to the US with anyone. Why? Well that would require OU to file an application with the US Department of Transportation. And that actually takes several weeks worth of work. That is way too much to ask of anyone sitting in Buzin.
