NEWS FLASH

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport handled 775.795 passengers in June, representing an increase of 4.1% on the same month last year. In line with expectations, growth slowed in June on the back of Wizz Air's capacity reductions resulting from engine inspections. Commercial aircraft movements during the month grew 1.3%. In a statement, operator VINCI said, "Belgrade Airport benefitted in Q2 from the increase in services (Air Serbia up 6%, Lufthansa 9%, Swiss 12% vs 2023) notably to the big European cities (Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris)". During the first half of the year, Belgrade Airport welcomed 3.717.777 travellers, up 13.1% on 2023, or an additional 430.840 passengers. Belgrade Airport's July results will be published somewhat later than usual, on August 27, in line with VINCI's policy.

Slim growth but expected as it was not just Wizz that had fleet issues but JU, LH, LX... as well. I pray to God everything goes according to plan from September.

No, you cannot. You can't buy ticket for their flight separately from the accommodation.

You can if the tour operator wants to sell you, that is if they have any free seats on the flight. They just put you as one of their passngers on one of the flights they bought

It would still be a new LCC destination for BEG and VIE. Wizz Air has made flying affordable for so many of us and we love and respect them for what they did for us. They made seeing the world a lot more affordable.

Explain that to passengers that need to travel now, not in 10-15 years. What a lowbrow comment. Egomaniac who just wants dirt cheap flights for his destinations and doesn't care for anyone else.

Wizz could start Bratislava or Brno. There are massive bus transit from Vienna to Serbia. That people pays 40-50 Eur for a bus ride and would never pay 150 for a plane ticket. But if LCC would be around 50 Euro, they will gladly switch. So, legacy companies would not have impact in their business, only bus companies would be affected

With this 13% growth, 9 million is already achieved. But I expect bigger growth in Q4, when JU starts new long haul and new winter routes and Wizz at least bring back last year’s frequencies. At least I expect 9.5 mil, even closer to 10 mil

Those who call BEG their airport already know 3.8% is good growth given the circumstances. They read the link in the text and knew for months slowdown was expected. They know growth was amazing last year. Growth will increase after this summer and will produce record results for 2024. Good news for all BEG fans.

"Given the circumstances". Those circumstances were all within the control of JU and W6. Stop with the excuses and own it. They should have beaten their growth from last year as traffic is up all around Europe and the world.
