Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has brought forward the winter suspension of its service between the Emirati capital and Sarajevo. Flights will now end on September 29, rather than the initially planned October 26. Similar to last year, the airline will not maintain operations between the two cities over the winter period. Abu Dhabi has been listed as a strategic route eligible for subsidies in a recent public call by the Tourism Association of Sarajevo Canton. Despite the suspension, during the month of October, Sarajevo will continue to boast services to the Middle East, including to Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Gassim, and Kuwait City, with an average of fifteen weekly flights to the region during the month.

The winter season wont be as good as the summer season for SJJ. With only 4-5 weekly flights to the middle east i am not sure if they can reach the same results that they have now. SJJ is still poor connected to Europe.

15 weekly is in October. In November it's 4-5 weekly.

Turisti koji dolaze iz tih krajeva nisu odusevljeni balkanskom zimom. 😊

No one wants to breath coal in SJJ during winter.

SJJ is not a seasonal airport at all though, it will still shatter all of its 2023 numbers and end the year at 1.75+ million. Regardless of the smog comments (which might or might not happen for 15 days throughout the winter), winter tourism is still super popular and those people don't have to worry about pollution.

And the Middle East doesn't even carry Sarajevo, it's about 15% of its annual passengers (if we count Dubai and Abu Dhabi as the Middle East, even though they're hubs). Sarajevo will get a LOT extension, more Eurowings rotations, more Swiss rotations, new Wizz route to Rome, year-round Pegasus and SunExpress to Antalya which wasn't there last year and potentially another Thessaloniki extension by Ryanair. More than enough.

What do you think about new Wizz air offer” All You Can Fly“?

Great if you fly a lot. But you can only book 3-days before flight (assuming seats are available)

It's great! But we need more new destinations from Belgrade to make it really worth it. Been to all current ones except Abu Dhabi and I'm getting bored! ;)

You should really visit UAE, I visited last month and it's such a stunning country, Dubai is awesome metropolis, and Abu Dhabi has beautiful nature near/in the city center.
