IAI mulls B777 conversions in Belgrade

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has said it is exploring the possibility of launching a passenger-to-freighter conversion (P2F) line for the Boeing 777 aircraft in Belgrade in cooperation with maintenance company Jat Tehnika. It comes following collaboration between the two on 767-300ER P2F projects. IAI has been actively looking outside of Israel over the past few years by building up its partner network on P2F conversion programs in a constrained capacity environment. These partnerships include cooperation with Etihad Engineering for B777-300ER P2F work in Abu Dhabi and with Sharp K Technics in Seoul for B777-200ER and B777-300ER P2F conversions. The South Korea operation is expected to start by the end of this year. IAI also has two US P2F partnerships focused on B777-300ER conversions: Ascent Aviation in Marana, Arizona and another operation in Cincinnati, Ohio.
