NEWS FLASH

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport has handled its millionth passenger od the year, a month ahead of 2023. The airport anticipates welcoming 1.4 million travellers this year. The CEO of operator Fraport Slovenija, Babett Stapel, said, "We are happy about the millionth passenger milestone, which we recorded at our airport at the beginning of September, as much as one month ahead of last year. This also proves the stable and persistent growth of traffic in recent years, which we achieved by expanding the range of destinations and frequencies, as well as by providing quality services to both passengers and airlines. At the peak of this year's summer season, passengers were able to travel to as many as 25 destinations on scheduled flights and choose from 57 holiday destinations on charter services. New routes added this year, such as Copenhagen and Riga, have recorded good load factors". The airport noted that passenger numbers on flights to Istanbul, Zurich, Brussels, Warsaw, Belgrade and Skopje have exceed pre-pandemic levels, while Frankfurt and Paris are close to doing so.
