Sarajevo Airport registers busiest year on record

Sarajevo Airport saw its busiest year of all time in 2024 by handling 1.821.762 passengers. The figure represents an increase of 33.8% on the previous year or an additional 459.755 travellers. The number of aircraft movements stood at 16.836, up 21.1%. The previous year saw the arrival of Ryanair, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, SunExpress, AJet and Aegean Airlines at Sarajevo Airport. The airport is expected to continue to register strong growth, becoming the fastest growing in the former Yugoslavia during the first quarter of 2025.

      Which just solidifies the data about how many Bosnians use Istanbul as a hub to the US, North Africa, Middle East, Australia... But young people also use it for layovers to other niche countries that they visit such as Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Jordan and Central Asia
