NEWS FLASH

All commercial flights in and out of Greece have been cancelled today until 23.59 local time as a result of a 24-hour nationwide general strike, which the country’s air traffic controllers have joined. The strike is being held by unions to mark the second anniversary of the Tempe rail crash in Greece which led to the death of 57 people. Unions say they are seeking justice for the victims. As a result of the strike, Aegean Airlines has today cancelled its services from Athens to Belgrade, Skopje and Zagreb, while Air Serbia has been forced to cancel its flights from Belgrade to Athens and Thessaloniki. Disruptions are possible throughout the weekend. The strike comes just ahead of the start of a long weekend in Greece when there is an increase in travel demand.

One of our clients was booked on JU to ATH today. Air Serbia sent out an email informing her that the flight was cancelled. After a short conversation with the JU call center, everything was sorted out in 10 minutes. Her flights was reimbursed without delays.

Air Serbia handled the situation really well.

It took a whole 10 minutes and a phone call to get a refund for a cancelled flight and that is a situation handled "really well"?

Well, the automatic refund does not suit everybody as a lot of P2P pax still need to get to their destination.

Noćas i za Atinu i Solun lete A320, tako da je većina putnika prebačena na te letove.

Air Serbia has a whole set of flaws we could be complaining about but, in my opinion, their call center is not one of them. The longest I've waited was 10 minutes which isn't too bad. They are usually polite and friendly.
