Sarajevo is going to have a fantastic year coming off a brilliant 2024.
ReplyDeleteIt probably is now the fastest growing airport in the Balkans, surpassing even TIA in growth rate!
Yes but it handle just 100k passengers in a single month ...
Delete13:18 Last year tho, SJJ had ~75K in January, so... progress yk.
DeleteMaybe in percentage, SJJ can surpass TIA , but in numbers it will never surpass TIA
Delete^That's what he obviously meant.
DeleteIt cant even come closer to SKP or PRN , far away to come close to TIA :D
DeleteIt can indeed come closer to SKP and PRN as it's been doing in 2024. It has equal if not bigger potential. We'll see in 5 years
DeleteYeah Sarajevo will definitely come close to SKP in the coming years, it has already significantly reduced the gap. It has also far bigger tourism than SKP.
DeleteFantastic work Sarajevo!!! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteMore than 50% of traffic from Turkish carriers.
ReplyDeleteWhy not? There is demand for flights there.
DeleteMost are actually transfers although certainly many people visited Istanbul and vice versa for the holidays
DeleteNo. Most pax on Turkish carriers is P2P demand! From where do you source your "information"?
DeleteJU has to rely more and more on O&D travelers for this route as the Turks are getting more and more of the transfer traffic.
ReplyDeleteThis is funny comment. Bosnians go to Turkey, Turks come to Bosnia. Transfers don't account 20% of these numbers.
Delete2.3-2.5 million pax this year at SJJ seems like a very possible scenario.
ReplyDeleteNot possible to overpass 2m ;)
DeleteThe airport had 1.82M last year, Ryanair alone will get them 300k more seats this year, not to mention LOT going year-round now etc.
DeleteAnon 13:17 - Not possible to overpass?! Even without the additional Ryanair routes announced this year, SJJ wouldve had more than 2 million, what are you talking about?
Delete13:17
Delete1st of all: Where are you from? Cause I wish your city's airport best of luck this year.
2nd of all: Are you fr? 4 new FR routes, Pegasus, W6, FR, LH (unless if they cancel them, again) and LOT adding more frequencies (didn't hear anything about the latter going year-round tho), Norwegian adding CPH (alongside SAS (who's also doubling the amount of frequencies compared to last summer) starting earlier than last year) and W6 (hopefully) bringing back FMM this summer.
Besides, FR didn't start flying to SJJ in Q1 of 2024, OU hadn't made a decrease in frequencies throughout February (unlike last year) and W6 added FCO at the beginning of the winter.
Sure, A3 and TUI did leave SJJ completely, EW seemingly shelving it's plans, QR reducing frequencies compared to last August and Pegasus will suspend AYT till March, but other than that, the only way SJJ will have less than 2M this year would be awful LF and a decent amount of cancelations.
Have a nice day!
To add to my reply Nouvelair will add Djerba and LX's frequency increases.
DeleteYea and you think all that new routes will bring that much people ? How are u sure in that , nobody can predict that , and yes this year come close to 2m , how you know it will have more?
DeleteIt is airport that last year had 70k pass in January now have 100k , the only good month is August with around 260k , anything else is less then 200k in a single month. The percentage if growth is huge yes , but its small numbers , you dont understand that ??
Someone can't stand progress from Sarajevo.
Delete^ Well, then WHY DO YOU THINK IT WON'T REACH 2M HUH!? It finished the year with 1.821.762 passengers. It was less than 200K- LESS THAN EVEN 180K AWAY FROM 2M. Sure, this year ain't a leap year, unlike the last one, but that doesn't mean SJJ won't be able to reach AT LEAST 2M. This seems pretty achievable to me.
DeleteI said it will reach 2m but not overpass👍
DeleteEW is actually increasing frequencies as they will fly Cologne 5 times a week (3 last summer) and Stuttgart 3 times a week (2 last summer)

ReplyDeleteFacebook, for some reason, thought the headline was promoting violence and automatically removed it. Will try to repost later.
