DeleteWow, Sarajevo keeps shining!!! Lets hope for a Ryan base next year, and the return of Wizz base as well!
ReplyDeleteRyanair avoids opening bases outside the EU/UK as much as it possibly can.
DeleteIt would be fantastic if they actually stationed aircraft and crews in SJJ, BNX, TGD.
What SJJ needs can easily be achieved without a base as well. Relying on Wizz Air or Ryanair is a big risk.
DeleteThis new terminal in Sarajevo is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhy JU isn't taking SJJ seriously is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteDemand for travel is obviously there. Why can't they add and time better their flights so as to get some of that demand flying through its network in BEG?
An early morning departure from Sarajevo to connect to JU's morning wave from Belgrade would help so much.
DeleteAnd also an evening return, even some days of the week.
The ATR is the ideal aircraft for it. And JU has enough of these airplanes to realize this increased flying to SJJ.
@11.37 Because BEG cannot compete with DLH (FRA), AUA (VIE), SWR (ZRH) and LOT (WAW) and THY (IST) as a transfer airport. Bigger players with better route network and better time-tables. And now even SAS started flights from CPH during the summer, that is another legacy carrier with transfer potentials. Let's not mention RYR's meteoric rise and destinations they brought in. WZZ to some extent. The number of the passengers going through BEG would be negligible for overall number added to BEG transfer pool, so ASL is smart enough not to waste resources. BEG as a hun-and-spoke airport from SFRJ days is looooooooong gone, and I am not sure where those sentiments are still coming from SJJ passengers would contribute to its number? Even BNX is insignificant in its route network and it's never been upgraded. [S.K.]
DeleteSarajevo needs to be connected to Amsterdam!
ReplyDeleteSJJ- Eindhoven is more realistic!
ReplyDeleteSARAJEVO! S A R A J E V O!
ReplyDeleteIncredible, love to see it. Hopefully soon, Paris,LHR,AMS and DUB. Anyone know whats going on with the tax they wanted to reintroduce? That could very well cause all this to collapse unfortunately if Ryanair leaves because of it.
ReplyDeleteCalm down , be happy that Ryanair is there and flying , and if they dont fix the issue with the taxes , Ryanair can dissapear by night next year.
DeleteSarajevo ide ispred Skopja
ReplyDeleteMoze samo u tvojim snovima , pogledaj razliku prvo a onda pisi komentare bez logiku ;)
DeleteSarajevo trenutno ima oko 500k putnika a Skopje 800k zaklucno sa mesec April , kako to ide ispred nije mi jasno? A da vidicemo na kraje godine totalni rezultat!
DeleteSarajevo is still behind, but in a year or two it's possible.
DeleteSJJ never reach SKP numbers or overpass , even with all the cuts SKP have and all the high percentage SJJ have still did not reach SKP numbers , yes coming close but not reach. Last year difference was 1.2m passengers. This year SJJ is expected to get 2.2 and SKP 3.3 so it will be a huge difference again!!
DeleteI still can't believe that there is no direct flights between Sarajevo and Berlin, even after the call for subsidies. In fact there no more flights to Berlin from any airport in the country. The flights to Banja Luka and Tuzla from Berlin were always full and were going 2-3 times per week to each city. But yet no new flights in sight...
ReplyDeleteThis is what I am saying all the times , Gulf routes from SJJ dit not bring any benefit for the airport , and its not helo with number grows. SJJ as all Ex-yu airport need to be focused on getting European main hubs , and after all that can consider any other routes. Btw 45k with Ryanair in a single month is low numbers. W6 in SKP have more then 150k any month of the year, just to compare...
ReplyDeleteCompare Ryanair, which does not have a single aircraft based in Sarajevo, with WizzAir, which has 5 aircraft based in Skopje, really?
DeleteCompare to the cuts that W6 is currently having in SKP my point is that still achieving good numbers on a monthly basis , and Ryanair is in full power in SJJ right...
DeleteIn full glory with 0 based planes against 5 based planes? What do you think if Ryanair had 5 based planes in Sarajevo, what would the numbers be then? 27 destinations against 11?
