Congratulations Zagreb. But is it just me or did Croatia Airlines' new routes which started in early July make no impact on passenger numbers whatseover?

Probably,if Ryanair opened 5 new routes instead of OU passenger numbers would go to 500k definitely.

It is an amazing performance this year from Franjo Tudman airport.
Extreme impressive if you take into account the stellar performance it had last year.
Seems that Aeroports De Paris is the best concession operator.

Long term, Zagreb has a great future, I mean the airport is all but guaranteed to reach 20 million passengers, by 2040. As Croatia becomes wealthier and people have more disposable income, they'll opt to travel more and more.... I predict this year Airport will reach 4.7 million, somewhat disappointing if you ask me, but at least there's a decent growth. 2026, Zagreb airport will surpass 5.0 million that is all but certain, question is, can Croatian Airlines play significant role in that growth. Medium term, Zagreb airport will most likely end up with ~7.0 million passengers in 2030, but with Croatian strong tourism performance, growing importance of Zagreb as capitol of an EU member state and the fact Croatia is now becoming wealthy and prosperous country, all will play in passenger noumbers long term.

ZAG does not follow economic growth in Croatia at all. It is such a shame.

      You mean Zagreb Airport ???

Zagreb otherwise is quite in tune with current economic growth, generates around 30% of Croatia's GDP which in 2025 is around $33.1 bn, or $43 000 income per head, Croatia's average is $28 500.

@17:40 ZAG reaching 4.7 million passengers this year isn't disappointing. In fact, it is the absolute best case scenario - bordering on impossible. It is far more realistic to predict around 4.65 million at best, with anything beyond that being a bonus above any realistic expectations.
I clearly remember those like you - might've even been you, predicting ZAG would reach 5 million this year already, with the expansion works starting in 2025. and everything like that. This is why 4.7 million seems disappointing to you, even tho it would in fact be a surprising success.
Reaching and perhaps barely surpassing 5 million passengers, if everything goes just right, has always been a 2026. thing. Even the airport management has said as much.
