NEWS FLASH
Croatia Airlines, in partnership with Hrvatski Telekom, has introduced complimentary Wi-Fi across its Airbus A220 fleet until time end of the year. Up until now, internet access on the new aircraft was available only for a fee, but passengers can now enjoy unlimited free connectivity by logging in through the Moj Telekom app. To use the service, travellers must download the app, register and activate a code in the Magenta Moments section prior to their flight. Access is available to all passengers regardless of their mobile operator.
Free browsing, including video streaming, is enabled through the international Magenta Moments rewards program, making Croatia the first of nine participating countries to launch such an onboard service. “Free in-flight Wi-Fi makes flights more enjoyable and helps time pass faster, whether passengers use it for work or entertainment. Hrvatski Telekom continuously expands its program with benefits that deliver real value. We are pleased that, through Magenta Moments, we have made onboard surfing an experience available to everyone”, KreÅ¡imir Madunović, Management Board Member and Chief Operating Officer Residential at Hrvatski Telekom, said. Travellers who do not download the app can still use the onboard Wi-Fi for a fee (first ten minutes for messaging are free).
What are the speeds like. We always hear about streaming but not a single flight i took allowed me for that with subpar speeds. The only one working was one AirBaltic flight but they seemingly use some different system
ReplyDeleteI flew Croatia Airlines two months ago, I had free wifi for 30 minutes, and the speed was pretty good. I was uploading photos to WhatsApp and they all went through.
DeleteAirBaltic uses Starlink which has higher speeds than wifi at home.
DeleteIt has only been rolled out on a small part of Air Baltic's total fleet and, while the speeds are fantastic vs. previous solutions, they are nowhere near WiFi at home (350 mbps per aircraft).
DeleteIt's doesn't work on most of the airplanes
DeleteYou can only get 1 code every 7 days in exchange for 500 magenta hearts, and the offer lasts until the end of the year. Still, a really good idea, can't wait to try it out.
ReplyDeleteHopefully JU will also decide to also install wifi on its fleet.
ReplyDeleteOU only has Wi-Fi on its Fleet because it wasn’t an option rather all new 220s come equipped with it and not to mention on a lot of their planes WiFi is INOP for whatever reason
ReplyDeleteSMFH on what people will write...
DeleteHaters should stop writing…. Croatia is making great improvment to their service
ReplyDeleteOther than wifi, what improvement? Business class passengers still getting a cardboard box for catering.
Delete^ You need to fly on a A220 and then compare it to a 15-20 year old A320ceo
DeleteOU's A320s are 25 years old but they are pretty solid. I flew BCN-ZAG last week and other than the plane being full of sick highschool children the plane itself was ok. Not sure what it has to do with inflight service...
DeleteWhen I say sick I mean they were all coughing and blowing their noses. Entire crew was wearing masks.
