NEWS FLASH

Lufthansa recorded growth in passenger numbers on both of its Ljubljana routes during the first half of the year, although figures remain below pre-pandemic levels once maintained by Adria Airways. The German flag carrier handled 69.936 travellers on the Frankfurt - Ljubljana service over the first six months of 2025, up 8.3% compared to last year. However, the result is still 1.7% lower than in 2019, when Adria operated the route. The average cabin load factor stood at 79%.

On its Munich - Ljubljana service, Lufthansa welcomed 38.665 passengers, representing an increase of 12.2% on last year but still 20% below 2019 levels. Loads averaged 71%. Air Dolomiti will take over six of ten weekly Lufthansa Munich - Ljubljana flights this upcoming winter.

LF is not great (especially MUC), but this is probably because of LH price policy for the tickets out of LJU (most notably intra-Europe). They monetize their monopoly very well. However I am still convinced Air Dolomiti are not the best move for LJU routes charging so much for the flights which are not even *A flights any more.

based on that data we know that LF for Dusseldorf was just a bit more than 60%

Is Fraport also at fault that their own LCC Eurowings on DUS route is not performing well?

LJU is too premium for LCCs. We don't need them. We fly with LH 😃

@12:28 i suggest you open route to La Rochelle in France with Ryanair and blame lack of demand from LJU for this. LJU needs leissure destinations and thats a fact.

Whenever there’s news about Ljubljana—even positive news—it only attracts negative comments. If someone dares to post something neutral or, heaven forbid, positive, the responses are overwhelmingly negative. So it’s no surprise that nowadays, whenever Ljubljana makes the news, hardly anyone comments anymore, except for the usual negative critics of Fraport and the Adria nostalgics.

Negative comments are mostly from the same guy. He was spamming on other forums too, but he got shut up there so he moved here where he can pretend to be many different people. He posts 10+ negative comments under every LJU article. It's sad really but until everything is anonimous, you can't really do much.

So what is the problem that people express their opinion. I am also not satisyed wtih destination offer from LJU. Results from LPA and BCN will show if there is a demand or not. But yet, if people want to fly to Greek islands in summer they can fly via ATH for 250 - 300 eur or fly direct from VCE, ZAG, VIE ... for 100eur. So a familiy of 4 saves around 500 eur for flying out of other airports. "you cant really do much" and what exactly would you do ? Report a comment ?
