NEWS FLASH
Podgorica Airport registered fewer passengers year-on-year for a second consecutive month in August, when it handled 235.567 travellers, down 1.2%. Ryanair, which reduced its operations from the Montenegrin capital by 20.8% last month has made the biggest impact on the airport’s performance. It offered 8.150 fewer seats on the market compared to August 2024. Unlike last summer, the airline no longer maintains services to Manchester and Zagreb and has reduced frequencies on flights to Berlin. Air Astana also operated fewer flights to Podgorica.
During the January - August period, Podgorica Airport handled 1.217.097 passengers, an increase of 0.03%, or an additional 334 travellers.

Ugh, looks bad for Podgorica :(
ReplyDeleteThank you for giving context! Read the passenger numbers somewhere else but without any explanation as to why or what was causing the decrease.
ReplyDeleteTGD must be the only airport in Europe where Air Astana makes the top 10 in size by capacity :D
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't TDG make an extra effort to have a direct line to ZAG again. According to last year's data, that line was very busy, it doesn't even have to be FR but 4O or OU?
ReplyDeleteBecause it won't be busy if it isn't Ryanair.
DeleteIf its busy enough for LJU, should be for ZAG as well. OU has a perfect aircraft for this route.
DeleteWhich one?
DeleteTGD
DeleteΤο me its wild then now TK has the same capacity to TGD as JU does...
ReplyDeleteJU has just more flights, two and a half ATRs make one B739 of TK or one A319 plus atr is A321.
DeleteIf this were another airpprt in the region, people would be having a meltdown with this performance.
ReplyDelete0,3& up?
DeleteNo it's 0.03% and down during busiest months of the year m
DeleteAs someone who lives in Montenegro, this sounds great to me, we are fed up with mass tourism. We are overwhelmed with tourism.
ReplyDeleteWell more and more people are flying from Tirana, even to routes which are already served from TGD, like Rome. Also to Bari, Germany, other cities in Italy and especially Barcelona.
