NEWS FLASH

Spain’s flag carrier Iberia will launch seasonal summer flights between Madrid and Tivat next year. The service will begin on July 18 and operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, until September 15. Operator Airports of Montenegro had been in negotiations with the Oneworld member for over a year regarding the introduction of flights to the country. The new route follows the start of seasonal operations between Barcelona and Tivat by Iberia’s low cost subsidiary Vueling this year. Further details about the new Madrid - Tivat service can be found here.

I don't get it why Iberia is so blind for Belgrade!
JU flies to Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Malaga and Palma , Wizz flies to Barcelona, Alicante and next year to Madrid....
Market is obviously there, why Iberia does not see it?

The market is there for Air Serbia which offers connections through Belgrade, not Iberia.

What about the market for Iberia, which offers connections from Madrid?

It is not only for connections, there is a plenty of P2P traffic. Wizz is the best proof for it as they do not offer any transfers.

Belgrade but also Skopje - C'mon Iberia, grab the low hanging fruits here. These 2 are no brainers especially as you are so well connected to latin america.

Skopje unfortunately can't sustain flights to Amsterdam, Transavia just canceled their flight, I doubt if Amsterdam doesn't work that Madrid will work

I totally agree with you! It would be amazing to see Iberia in BEG to provide additional competition to Wizz and AirSerbia but also others with transfer passengers. But the service in Iberia is on the level of Wizz to be understood right away, I flew with them between Madrid and Munich, and they do not provide a glass of water. The only positive was the comfort of their aircraft

Next news for new routes ?!?!? 😁
My fantasy: Qatar to LJU, Sky Express to Belgrade. By the way last years most of airlines announces routes in October or November for next spring/summer.

I dont think Qatar would be as grest for Ljubljana as new flights to Spain, Greece and Italy in summer season.
