NEWS FLASH
Pegasus Airlines will commence operations between Istanbul’s Sabiha Gockcen Airport and Ljubljana, as previously reported. The carrier will introduce flights between the two airports on Monday, January 26, operating three times per week with the 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. Capacity will be increased to the 239-seat A321 from the start of the 2026 summer season on March 29. Tickets are now on sale through the carrier's website. Further flight details can be found here. The new service will operate alongside Turkish Airlines’ double daily flights between Istanbul’s main airport and the Slovenian capital.

Wow, that's soon
ReplyDeleteLets gooo!
ReplyDeleteWill Turkish airlines keep this years increase to 18 pw?
ReplyDeleteYes and they scheduled 14->18 increase earlier than last summer.
DeleteAmazing, so we will see big growth to the Turkish market this year.
DeleteOn some days in the next summer season there are currently 1670 seats on sale between Ljubljana and Istanbul (3x A321neo TK, 1x A321 PC). That is A LOT.
DeleteDon't forget year round multiple daily flights to both Munich and Frankfurt, plus British to Heathrow
DeleteIn terms of connectivity to hubs, LJU is doing exceptionally well, we're just missing some LCC options
what Ljubljana miss now and should work on as a next step is more early morning departures ... at least Zurich, Munich and Paris would be great. and leisure routes: Malaga, Malta etc.
DeleteZurich? It has the earliest departure from all legacy companies
DeleteYes in winter. Not in summer.
DeleteI wonder if the Pegasus’s nee route and Berlin with easyJet will be the last announcements for next summer for LJU.
ReplyDeleteprobably yes
DeleteEasy to BER?
Delete@9.53, it has been confirmed here that easyJet is thinking about another route and most think its Berlin.
DeleteOk so no news just guess. I hope it will be another destination (in the South)
Deleteit will be berlin
DeleteWe have had someone from the industry confirm that it will be Berlin. Not officially confirmed but it pretty much is 99 % Berlin.
DeleteBerlin 😏
DeleteMalaga 🥰
Napoli 😍
Alicante 🤩
Palermo 😃
Haha what is this.
DeleteBravo Fraport
ReplyDeleteHuge news
ReplyDeleteFantastic news!
ReplyDeleteGood news, but i hope that turkish airlines won't reduce numver of flights per week.
ReplyDeletedifferent target group. im sure they will keep on flying 18pw ...
DeleteAfter Pegasus came to ZAG, TK increased flights, not the opposite. Don't see why LJU should be any diferrent and don't expect TK to reduce flights or equipment. It will minimum remain the same or even grow
DeleteLJU has a run these days....
ReplyDeleteIt should reach 1.7 MIO next year, maybe even 1.7 MIO?
DeleteI think it should reach more then 1,8 maybe 1,85 milion.
Deleteyes, second number should be 1.8 not 1.7 :)
DeleteWe are definitely reaching 2019 numbers (1,721,355) possibly even 2018! (1,812,411). To remind you we are getting Manchester, Barcelona, Podgorica, SAW, KLM increase, Edinburgh, Berlin.
DeleteThis year there will be around 1,58 mio pax and only the additions I wrote about will bring us extra 246.000 seats, and there are other increases and potential new routes as well.
yes but Amsterdam and Podgorica wont increase numbers ... capacity with KLM will be same as with Transavia, Podgorica will probably has just PAX shift from one airline to another .. maybe a small increase ..
DeletePodgorica has a capacity increase from 2500 to 10500 seats. How on earth won't the numbers increase.
Deleteyou can increase capacity as much as you want but if you dont sell those seats ... lets wait and see ... i really hope they will make same success story as they did in Skopje.
DeleteWe can happy if they reach 2 mio by 2030
DeleteIn LJU they bake small rolls 😉
I expect Wizz to increase the frequency to Skopje to 5 weekly.
DeleteSkopje could easily go 6 weekly or even daily during the summer. They have already increased it to 5 flights per week in Dec 2026
DeleteAdmin, what are the most unserved routes out of Ljubljana?
ReplyDeleteNot an admin but I'd assume Vienna, Rome, Berlin, Tirana, Bucharest, Lisbon, Prague and maybe even something like Milan
DeleteVienna is 4h drive from Ljubljana so not a chance someone takes a connecting flight ti Vie
DeleteNo way they'll fill an A321.
ReplyDeleteBut Zagreb will struggle as a result.
tbh I wanted to visit Istanbul as a weekend break but i didn't because Turkish was too expensive as p2p ... and i think there are many like me who will now consider going there as a short trip ...
Delete@10:04. I agree. LCC's don't catch demand, they create it. I never was thinking about visiting Edinburgh before but now I will most certainly do it next year since easyJet will fly there from LJU.
DeleteI think so too. But not for A321.
Deletewell they can always change equipment ...
DeleteAlso the Istanbul market is massive, it's a city with roughly 16mil people in the metro area, that's more than Paris and comparable to London
DeleteI have already booked one trip, and am planning on another later in the year. They offer great connections to Central Asia.
DeleteThey can fill A321 and ZAG will not struggle. And both neighbour's cows will remain alive 🙂
DeleteWell, Zagreb is mostly on a smaller plane.
DeleteThe flights are available for purchase now and some are selling as low as 28 euros one way. This will be a success.
ReplyDeleteAnd not to mention, they offer connecting flights!
Delete91 euros return flight to Antalya is even better.
DeleteTickets are already on sale, finally we have cheap flights to Batman (via Sabiha G.)!
ReplyDeleteNice.
ReplyDeleteI don’t understand who will fly this route?? Ok, some Slovenian tourists to Istanbul, but 3 per week with A321??!? Doesn’t seem realistic
ReplyDeleteIstanbul has been a top performing destination for years. Additionally the airlines offers connections. Wat about 3x weekly does not seem realistic?
DeleteThey offer connecting flights as a low cost carrier and are a cheaper alternative for P2P flights to IST. I cannot see how this route wouldn’t be succesfull.
DeleteBecause IST is a real hub, SAW is mostly LCC airport. Their connections are poor, they do not fly in waves, there are no multi daily flights.
DeleteYou guys forgot we have a lot of turkish workers at Karavanke and 2 tir.
DeleteBravo LJU. Istanbul is always a good choice. I hope OMO will manage to resolve the AJet saga, or that it too will get Pegasus or even better Turkish Airlines to IST.
ReplyDeleteTickets are SELLING the 1€ ticket is mostly no more and in the summer round trip is now well over 150€.
ReplyDeleteChecking Instagram comments under their post, we'll see a lot of Turks coming for vacation to Ljubljana. Great!
Checking comments under their announcement post, they had 5000 tickets for 1€ on sale and sold it within 45 minutes. The site crashed according to social media az well... Never saw that
