NEWS FLASH
Low cost carrier Wizz Air has scheduled the launch of three new routes to Rijeka, a destination it has not previously served. Services will commence on June 9 next year from Katowice, Lublin and Gdansk. The former two will be maintained twice per week, while the latter three times per week until the end of the 2026 summer season. Tickets are now available for purchase through the airline's website. Wizz Air has also received slots for flights between Warsaw Chopin and Rijeka, but is yet to schedule the service.

Congratulations to beautiful Kvarner region and Warsaw.
ReplyDeleteAnd for these other cities in Poland of course.

DeleteCongrats Rijeka!
ReplyDeleteWizz is uploading new routes and updating the old ones as we speak, so it will be busy day today :)
7 weekly RJK - Poland is a big deal with A321neo! Wow!
DeleteThat really is good news for Rijeka/Krk airport.
DeleteBravo Hrvatska!
ReplyDeleteAll these cities are unique and worth the visit. Moreover GDN is great for coolcation. I wonder how many Croats will be tempted to visit PL?
ReplyDeleteYes, nice possibilities.
DeleteI would imagine very few locals will be wizzing to Poland
DeleteCroats like Poland.
DeleteSome, but of course not vast numbers. These are aimed at Poles going on holiday and a very welcome link too!
DeleteWill be good for Slovenians too
DeleteSarajevo would do well with Krakow or Gdansk too, it's among the busiest unserved routes
ReplyDeleteRyanair seems more realistic there though. Wizz Air seems to have given up on SJJ.
DeleteHopefully Wizz wil open a base on RJK airport, I think it would be a good one for them. Since most other airports in Croatia are already ryanair territory.
ReplyDeleteI think that Rijeka/Krk airport as a base for any airline is highly unrealistic in its current state. It is however great to see Wizz making this expansion, almost life-saving some would say given the mismanagement and difficulties the airport has faced attracting and keeping airlines.
DeleteHow can airport keep an airline if not sufficient demand is present....
DeleteRijeka has struggled to keep airlines for years. A mixture of the airport's location, and lack or good management. But this is a really positive vote of confidence for the airport by a big player.
DeleteFinally something serious. It was high time for RJK to start doing things like this. So we can stop being called auto destination. This gives me hope Jet2 will materialize as well. And they should try get Norwegian back as well. For the beginning. Will not congratulate because much more could and should be done but will not criticize either. Finally satisfied with what's been happening at RJK lately
ReplyDeleteThis is great, over 1600 weekly arrivals
ReplyDeleteI don’t understand how OU doesn’t even try launch anything other than vrankfurt from other airports like Rijeka, Zadar and Osijek
ReplyDeleteBecause it's part of their strategy to remain LHG feeder, following Ivan Mišetić surrendering the market for his personal benefits long time ago, and Mafia members, today, continuing with what was promised and what is the deal, and sending passengers from all over Croatia to MUC and FRA. And no wonder people in Croatia and ex-yu don't know about it - "independent investigative journalists" in Croatia keep safely away from the topic, which in its roots equals treason.
DeleteGet over it.
DeleteI will not get over it for as long as I live. And it will result with change one day.
DeleteYour anger will change OU? Seems like a waste of energy but god speed.
DeleteThis "anger" as you say comes out due to treason fact! We all agree....Croatia as state and in this case CTN should be an independent country/entity...I fully agree with gentleman....said but true
DeleteFirst, I am not angry. I am sad and disappointed. Second, how can you be sure someone will eventually not react to negativities I talk about? And if I waste my energy, on whatever speed, it's my problem, not yours. But obviously you don't want me to talk about crime, corruption and incompetence in OU, and wider, all over the country. Why, that is the question.
DeleteThe above was answer to 10.47.
DeleteAnd 11.33, thanks!
