The Urban Planning and Construction Secretariat of the City of Belgrade has issued Air Serbia a permit to commence preparatory work for the construction of its new headquarters near Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (visuals pictured). The preparatory works include land grading and leveling, excavation and the overall preparation of the site for the installation of containers and other temporary structures required for the planned construction. This also encompasses the creation of temporary access roads, parcel access, site setup and organisation, utility connections and servicing of the construction area, as well as excavation for temporary roadworks. The permit was issued last Wednesday with construction expected to commence shortly.
The project, which involves the construction of three buildings, will be executed in phases and cover an area 24.215 square metres next to the Aeronautical Museum. The first phase, for which Air Serbia has been issued permits, will see the construction of the airline’s four-storey 7.985 square metre HQ building. The ground floor will feature an entrance hall with an exhibition area, training rooms, meeting rooms and a cafe. The airline's offices, which will be primarily open space, will occupy the upper floors. The roof will be flat, with a smaller walkable area designed as a rooftop bar and terrace with the capacity to seat some fifty people. The second phase of the project will involve the construction of a five-storey hotel spanning 8.234 square metres featuring 152 rooms, while the third and final phase will involve the construction of another business building identical in size and design to Air Serbia's new headquarters.

DeleteInitial plan was to complete HQ by June 2026 and hotel by 2027, but the construction is already delayed. The usual construction deadline is about 18 months.

There are many hotels in Surcin. That is 10 minutes from the terminal so your info is not correct.

ReplyDeleteWould be good if the project for the hotel would allow for future hight expension (to add more floors in future, if it shows that the currenty planned size does not meet the demand upon opening).
ReplyDeleteYou cannot have tall buildings on the airport grounds for obvious reasons. About five floors is the maximum.
