Belgrade Airport introduces new Visa fast track lane

NEWS FLASH

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport has introduced a new Visa Fast Track service, allowing eligible passengers to bypass queues at passport control and security screening. In addition to all business class passengers, holders of Visa Platinum, Visa Signature, Visa Infinite, Visa Platinum Business and Visa Signature Business bank cards issued in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Albania, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan are entitled to complimentary access to the fast lane. Depending on the card type, access is available between two and four times per year. Accompanying children under the age of twelve may also use the fast lane free of charge. To access the fast lane, the bank card must be scanned, after which a receipt is issued and presented to staff at the lane entrance.

The introduction of e-border checks made this unnecessary for Serbian citizens. Its just too burdensome to take the card out, scan it one by one, get the receipt, etc when you can just scan the passport electronically.

Security screening is the choke point.

True, with this you can use the dedicated security lane, which is actually also manned by a staff member which checks boarding passes. So the priority usage of the lane is actually enforced.

Although I must say that security in BEG is generally quick because a lot of security lanes are open in peak times.

Not really, there wasn't a cap on how many times you can use your Mastercard to use Priority, plus you didn't have to scan it, you just showed it to the personnel.
