NEWS FLASH
The overhaul of Osijek Airport is progressing steadily, with completion scheduled for the end of next month. Valued at 14.3 million euros, the project is designed to improve passenger flow, comfort and security. The 2.800-square-metre terminal is being expanded and reconfigured to optimise circulation throughout the building. Upon completion, the upgraded facility will feature additional gates, a relocated food and beverage outlet and newly designed areas for border control and security screening. The arrivals hall will be enlarged, while a fifty-metre canopy is being added to the terminal facade to enhance both functionality and appearance. The works also encompass improvements to the building’s aesthetics, energy efficiency and technical infrastructure. A central objective of the upgrade is to streamline check-in and security procedures. The number of check-in counters will double from three to six. The existing six baggage screening X-ray machines will be replaced by a single high-capacity unit, while hand luggage screening will be upgraded with two to three dedicated lanes, each equipped with its own scanner.
Following completion of structural elements and insulation, the roof is being refurbished and new skylights installed to bring more natural light into the terminal. Plumbing, drainage, ventilation and electrical installations are virtually complete. A second floor has been added in the central section, staircases installed and most partition walls finalised. Ceramic works will begin shortly, giving the interior its finished look.

Sounds like a story of Maribor :)

DeleteTerminal looks good. Congratulations 🎉 Osijek.
DeleteIt doesn’t need an overhaul this expensive it’s an airport that just got its only service cut by half
ReplyDeleteIt is not the only service. Trade Air has year-round daily flights. But they have 2 passengers so the airport may as well be a tent.
DeleteYeah trade air service with a load factor close to 0
DeleteIt's like 10-20% iirc, a flight report awhile ago had 3 passengers on a plane with the capacity of 33 passengers. Could maybe be higher during weekends, but idk, a ZAG-OSI flight seems redundant
DeleteLooks nice.
