If its not Ryanair probably there would not be even this grow of 5k pax
Is it Ryanair though, frequencies are the same, they'll only jump on some routes from April.

DeleteWell done Sarajevo :)
ReplyDeleteNice photo admin!
ReplyDeletewho said that SJJ will overtake SKP one day?
ReplyDeleteSJJ did not overtake SKP when it stagnate, also will not overtake now when SKP grows rapidly and SJJ growth is just modest.... thats just a non sense comments
DeleteMaybe one day in the future, but not for a long time. It is after all a far far nicer city for tourism.
DeleteWe dont know what the future will bring on earth :)))
DeleteBoth cities are nice for tourists and good to be visited ;)
Sarajevo has way better tourism infrastructure and about 3x the amount of visitors...
DeleteSo what did they achieve with that ? Obviously all that tourists you mentioning are not going there by air travel, dont forget those forum is for air travel..
Delete@18:24 well the inital comment at 14:40 was a dig at the silly comparisons and competition-like comments people often make. Its not a race or a competition for passenger numbers you know.
Delete19:20 but we do not talk here for how many tourists or visitors one country have or had last year. We are talking for air traffic numbers. Btw yes the comment is I assume from the last year comments that SJJ will overtake SKP... also I have mentioned couple times SKP,SJJ,PRN,TGD need direct flights to main Europe hubs for both busi ess and leisure, I really dont understand the competition for the numbers
DeleteThere is no competition for numbers apart from sad local patriots cheering blindly their local airport like its a family member lol. The three markets are very different which is interesting and all offer interesting future potential.
Delete14:40 Nobody in a serious manner. Sarajevo simply experienced strong growth last year, so some people assumed its numbers would surpass Skopje’s. In reality, the two airports are not in competition in any way, so the attempt by some to frame it that way makes little sense.
DeleteThey serve different markets. People in Bosnia and Herzegovina still tend to drive to many European destinations because they are geographically closer than travelers from Skopje. Meanwhile, Skopje serves the entire Macedonian market and partially Kosovo as its catchment area. Sarajevo, on the other hand, mainly serves the Sarajevo region and central and parts of eastern Bosnia, since other regions are covered by nearby airports (Tuzla and Banja Luka) or passengers often fly from Belgrade, Zagreb, or Split.
For that reason, there is no need for any animosity between the two airports. As someone mentioned, the situation could change at some point: Bosnia and Herzegovina is a larger country/big diaspora, and Sarajevo has more tourism activity compared to Skopje. However, in the end, the exact passenger numbers should not matter much as long as both airports provide flights, solid infrastructure, and good connections.
Does anyone know what the data for SJJ-GRO has been like?
ReplyDeleteWhy are there no intra-Balkan routes to Tirana or Skopje? There is huge demand
