NEWS FLASH

SAS Scandinavian Airlines will temporarily reduce operations on its seasonal service between Copenhagen and Sarajevo at the start of the 2026 summer season. The carrier will resume flights as planned on April 1 but will suspend the route for just over two weeks shortly afterwards. All services between April 12 and April 29 have been cancelled. Flights are then expected to resume as previously scheduled, operating twice per week.

Because demand is weak outside of the gasto period of the Easter holidays

Easter holidays occuring earlier than last year, as well as competition from Wizz Air's Malmo-Tuzla route which has been re-established.

They compete directly against Norwegian on this route.

SAS demand is quite high and they're price dumping on the route with Norwegian, LFs continously in the high 80s, what are you on about?

Doesn't make sense as the LF is in the high 80s on this route and it's routinely packed. Likely a SAS airplane problem

What is happening is that you are not using your head. This route heavily relies on diaspora and in Denmark, the diaspora follows public holidays that are celebrated in Denmark. So they can use the free days to travel and visit their homeland.

Yes, but it includes a week after Dannish Easter but doesn't include start of Dannish school holidays just before Easter, please check the dates and arguments.

Maybe it's connected to capacity rather than demand? Lost a small amount due to unexpected issues in that time frame and they decided to cut that route

The demand is there, lots of Bosnians visit Copenhagen for tourism, two companies might be too much

Is this maybe somehow connected to the Middle East crisis? It is a very random decision and I bet affected travelers wont be happy.

SAS has aircraft grounded due to neo engine issue. It could be that they increased frequencies on other routes during this period and need the aircraft. They can probably make more money on other routes so they got higher priority.

Completely strange considering Easter holidays. Also, I know it's off-topic but I'd like to see them in Skopje since CPH is no longer served by W6.

School Easter holidays in Denmark end on April 6. I'm pretty sure that they are even shorter in Sweden, with schools only being closed on the actual Easter holidays. In Denmark, it's a vacation from March 28 to April 6.

Scandinavian media reports that SAS cancels weak flights because of fuel prices doubling. Given the timing, SJJ must be one of the routes affected by this.
