Ljubljana Airport has continued with its strong growth this year by handling 143.799 passengers in April, representing an increase of 14.5%. The number of aircraft movements remained mostly unchanged with a 0.1% increase, standing at 2.075. During the January - April period, the airport welcomed 437.207 travellers, up 16.9%, or an additional 63.314 customers. However, the figure is still down 9% on the pre-pandemic 2019, which the airport anticipates surpassing this year. Strong growth is expected to continue throughout the coming months.

NIce to see that the crisis and all the reductions didn't have too big of an effect last month yet.

The only impact will be in May when there are no Munich flights.

The only noticable effect is the lack of flydubai, average around 3000 pax each way per month

Maybe there were no MUC flights but people still had to fly. I think they were just rebooked on FRA, ZRH, BRU... flights. I don't think they bused them to ZAG.

Will TK be the largest operator by seat capacity in may?

At this point, Lufthansa is in front, just, and will likely stay that.

The Swiss increase this year is crazy, now they have practically the same capacity as TK. I also wonder what are the passenger numbers gonna be for SKP with Wizz considering the high capacity last month.

SKP-LJU scheduled capacity is 12k, probably I will say handling 9 or 10k is huge and big numbers for those two airports. I can imagine this summer this route will make booom

Such a big increase is only limited to April and May. For half of the summer the route will stay 4x per week, matching last years frequencies and for the second half of the summer there is an increase of only 1 weekly flight added. In the winter the route is gonna be mostly 4x peer week, even though they were originally planning for it to be 5x weekly.

In January the LF was around 75 % so the route is clearly starting to hit its limits.

Almost most of the summer the route will be 5x which is still great , with big chances last minute to be increased to 6x
Please do not compare January out of SKP , you cant judge by the worts month in SKP
Check the LF % after January
Btw for the winter is still early to comment anything

      Dec 24: LF 85 %
      Jan 25: LF 89,1%
      Feb 25: LF 93,1%

      Dec 25: LF 79,7%
      Jan 26: LF 74,7%
      Feb 26: LF 84,3%

If you come back at 11am I can also get you the data for march since they are releasing it today.

As I said, the route is starting to hit it's limits with all the increases they had. I really doubt they are gonna increase it to 5x week with the LF's they achieved this winter.

But as I said the route is definitely still a success, Skopje is very nicely connected to Ljubljana now, its just the fact that the services cannot grow indefinitely.

Yes, with the beginning of November 25 Wizz switched to A321, before all the operations were on the A320.

Wow 12k on W6 SKP-LJU scheduled capacity, is probably around 9-10k passengers handled is huge and massive numbers, just shows the demand of this route and clearly makes W6 most succesfull route!!! Just wondering seasonal OHD-LJU will be good too??🤔

    1. Anonymous09:18

Well the route for sure is operating great but it isn’t the most successful route by any measures. OHD might work 2x per week but i don't think they want to jeopardise their services from SKP.

Even if yes hits limits with 4x and 5x weekly flights with strong LF % and handling almost 10k passengers in signle month,it is great for both airports and countries connectivity relations and I wish this will last long!!

Friends, if Wizz is happy with their LJU flights from SKP it might encourage them to add more flights in the future. Biggest problem is that W6 barely has any hubs in the west.

I think LJU should attract TAP.
