NEWS FLASH
TAROM has postponed the resumption of flights between Bucharest and Belgrade for a second time. The carrier, which suspended the three weekly route on April 9, had initially been due to resume operations on May 10. It did restore services on May 12, operating just one additional flight during the month, on May 19, after which services were to be suspended until June 2. However, the airline has now pushed back its return to Belgrade until July 2. TAROM codeshares with Air Serbia on flights between the two capitals. Air Serbia will maintain twelve weekly services on the route in June and is deploying the larger Embraer E190 aircraft on an average of seven weekly rotations, while the remaining flights will be operated by the ATR72-600. TAROM also uses an ATR72-600 on the service.

With 2 weekly flights it's not like they make any difference. Good thing there is JU with 12 weekly and more and more flights now with Embraers on this route.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is good for Air Serbia. All booked passengers will be transferred onto JU flights.
DeleteExtends the reduction?
DeleteThis route will clearly be canned in due time by TAROM.
ReplyDeleteTAROM itself will be canned in due time.
DeleteThey could use the opportunity to go for 14x weekly. I would assume Bucharest is majority transfer pax
DeleteIt is mostly transfer. On some days there are no good connections, so thats why there is no two daily flights. Instead, better to introduce third daily in the morning/evening then force two daily flights. Just like they did in Athens this summer. On some days there are three flights, on some only one. In total 15 weekly.
DeleteThere is a solid degree of point to point also. 3 times daily i think would be overkill. But im sure Cluj man will pop up eventually here.
DeleteI am not Cluj man, but Romania is really underserved, regarding it's potential.
DeleteAnimawings in Romania is already taking away their core markets and expanded to the secondary cities. Logical replacement for TAROM who needs to go the way of MALEV and CSA to the dustbin of history
ReplyDeleteMalev was a wonderful airline 😭

DeleteWonderful for who?
DeleteFor Hungary and good option for all balkan airports for transfer to Western Europe.
