Trip Report
Before departure, the crew distributed a welcome drink. Service throughout was friendly, attentive and professional.
Having previously flown Edelweiss on several occasions, I was keen to try the airline's Airbus A350-900, which visits Pristina from time to time. The flight from Pristina to Zurich may be relatively short at around two hours, but it provided an excellent opportunity to sample the carrier's long-haul business class product.
The aircraft was parked at a contact gate at Pristina Airport and immediately stood out on the apron. I like Edelweiss' red-and-white livery, which looks particularly elegant on the Airbus A350.
Boarding was completed efficiently and I made my way to seat 2K in the business class cabin. Edelweiss inherited its A350s from LATAM and the cabin retains the same 2-2-2 configuration but will be replaced by a new 1-2-1 cabin.
While not the newest business class product on the market, it remains highly competitive on a flight of this length a compared to the competition. The cabin felt spacious and welcoming, with mood lighting creating a pleasant atmosphere during boarding.
The legroom was exceptional and the seat could easily be converted into a fully flat bed, although there was little need for sleep on such a short sector. There is also a large TV screen and headphones are provided.
Despite the short flight time, a substantial meal service was provided. The tray included some featuring thinly sliced cured beef accompanied by marinated vegetables and cheese, a fresh side salad, bread, yuhurt with compote and beverages. A glass of white wine accompanied the meal, while orange juice and coffee were also available. The quality of the catering was excellent and felt more akin to what one would expect on a medium-haul flight rather than a two-hour hop across Europe.
The inflight entertainment system featured an interactive moving map, films, television programmes and music. However, on a flight of this duration, the spectacular cabin views and comfortable seat were arguably the main attractions.
After the meal service, the crew offered some Swiss chocolates.
For passengers travelling between Pristina and Zurich, the opportunity to fly aboard an Airbus A350-900 is a real treat. Experiencing it from business class makes the journey even more memorable.

Great report. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat was the load approx?
ReplyDeleteWhat was the cost difference between economy and business?
ReplyDeleteI hve seen cases Business was cheaper than Y Class
DeleteAlways depend when u fly
Business can be 600 up to 1300 CHF
Eco 200 to 900
We complained to Bernd Baur how poor the catering was in Business on PRN flights and that PRN passengers are not 2nd or 3rd class customers. It seems it helped. 😜
ReplyDeleteThe A350 to fly intra Europe is really cool and Edelweiss crews are sympathic and often relaxed. Crews have the advantage that u are paid 13 salaries from the beginning (in contrary to LX) and also bonus is better with WK than LX. On top of it, they fly most long hauls not daily, so u hve nice lay overs and F/A confirm that WK passengers are more easy than LX ones with all the different cultures and attitudes. So no wonder u feel well hosted while flying Edelweiss.
Thank u for yr report and in my eyes, WK is probably the worlds best holiday carrier. The new A350 1-2-1 cabin will further boost the brand and ensure they stay on the top.
