Air Serbia has upgraded its seasonal summer operations between Belgrade and Dubrovnik to year-round flights. As was recently reported by EX-YU Aviation News, it will become Air Serbia’s third year-round destination in Croatia, complementing Zagreb and Split. Services to Dubrovnik will operate three times per week over the winter, on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays with the ATR72-600 aircraft. It marks the second consecutive year of the airline’s growing presence on the Croatian market during the winter. Flights to Split became year-round during the 2025/26 season, with the route among the best performing in the airline’s network over the winter period.

DeletePlenty of people go. Obviously just a fraction of the summer crowds, but the area has a lot to offer even in winter, including the Pelješac peninsula, the wineries and so on.
Delete3 pw also isn't too much of a committment on an ATR, that's about 210pax pw per direction, something that should definitely be doable year round. I think it's also becoming popular to travel to the "crowded summer destinations" in winter as well. Maybe transfers will play a role as well.

DeleteI guess someone didn't read the last sentence in the article mentioning that Split was amongst the best performing routes in the network last winter. Thats why.
DeleteI only go in that period. Dubrovnik has very nice, relaxed Advent, not like overcrowded EU capitals. Dalmacia is beautiful off season.
Delete^ why would one compare 'Overcrowded EU capitals with a city of 40,000? But yeah Dubrovnik is best visited in winter if one wants to actually see the buildings. Its a living hell during the tourist season.
DeleteI've spent last year 5 nights end of October in Dubrovnik. It was awesome! Trail run, great restaurants, weather was still good... I even swam in the sea. There were still many people in the city. Belgrade Airport is the biggest hub in exyu, so people from Dubrovnik can use it.

DeleteYou are right. Not good at all. Only 90 destinations offered by Air Serbia from Belgrade in winter compared to the impressive 18 from Zagreb by Croatia Airlines

DeleteI agree. However, for Dubrovnik as a test winter route, Friday might still be a priority. Fridays and Sundays have the highest passenger frequency. While for Split, which has already established itself as a good winter addition, Thursday would not be a problem at all.
DeleteI wouldn’t be so sure. Dubrovnik might attract more P2P pax than Split did last winter.

DeleteStill, it's more "Bravo Air Serbia". Yes, the company will certainly accumulate a few more passengers at the airport, but it will take over the majority of passengers from OU.

ReplyDeleteI would have expected the flights to be late night / early morning, to catch some of the Montenegro traffic when TIV does not operate. So I'm surprised to see this as midday schedule. Are ATR's at a premium for overnight schedules?
ReplyDeleteNo one in winter time is going to catch a night flight to Dubrovnik and then drive to Tivat.
