Croatia Airlines took delivery of its eleventh Airbus A220 aircraft this morning. Registered 9A-CAU and named Slavonski Brod, it is the carrier’s ninth A220-300, complemented by a further two A220-100s. The jet is the second this week to arrive in Zagreb from Montreal via Copenhagen in the early hours of the morning. Croatia Airlines is scheduled to receive a further three A220s by the end of this year, with the final aircraft expected to join the fleet in 2027. The airline has tentatively scheduled its remaining non-A220 aircraft for withdrawal on March 27, 2027.

Why are they even flying A319s... the A220+Dash8+ATR fleet is enough for them to fly the full schedule

DeleteNo it isn't dumb, the _ looks perfect. I'm English so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to the English language.! In the Balkans you are taught American English which has a lot of differences to the correct pure English language!

DeleteIn English, it is very common and grammatically correct to use a noun (the name of a country like Croatia) as an adjective to describe another noun (like Airlines). This is called a noun adjunct or noun modifier. So check before commenting.
@21:27 both you and 18:24 are correct. There are carriers that opted for noun modifiers (e.g. Japan, Singapore, China Airlines) but also many carriers that opted for adjectives (Austrian, British, American, Swiss…) so naming it Croatia Airlines was a valid choice. Personally I also think a poor long-term marketing decision was made, given the fact that “Croatian” is way more in line with a natural way of speaking. That is mostly to do with two vowels repeating itself at the end of the word and start of a new one. Or to put it in another way, no one would ever call it Croatia Airlines colloquially by mistake, yet we often hear Croatian Airlines being mentioned.

Well strictly speaking the comment at 18:24 is wrong. Because it aserts something that is not a total truth. But considering the airline in question would rarely flash up up the search engine of those looking for flights its all nonsence. :)
