Sarajevo Airport’s CEO, Dino Selimović, has held talks with the Spanish Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina over the introduction of flights to Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga, as well as potential cooperation with Spanish airlines including Iberia, Vueling and Air Europa. “I am convinced that direct air services would represent a major step forward for Bosnia and Herzegovina, boosting tourism, strengthening business ties, and enhancing the country's international connectivity. In particular, direct links to Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga would provide passengers with convenient onward connections to the Canary and Balearic Islands, as well as destinations across South America and Africa”, Mr Selimović said. He added, “We also discussed jointly promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Spanish market, with a particular emphasis on year-round tourism and showcasing destinations such as Sarajevo, Mostar and Medjugorje”. Sarajevo currently boasts seasonal flights to Girona in Spain through Ryanair.

DeleteThis just means that Ryanair won't start any of these toutes in their "record summer 2027" SJJ ops.
ReplyDeleteOut of the 3 they only have a base in Malaga. Resuming Girona doesn't affect the connectivity Barcelona would bring.

DeleteNow that Turkish Airlines is a part of its ownership, things might change though.
DeleteDespite their name Air Europa have a tiny network of 18 European destinations outside of Spain if i remember. East of Venice the only places they serve are Athens and Istanbul.

DeleteOni koji su verovalo da Rayanir bice zauvek prisutan u Sarajevo su se lagali to sam reko sto puta. Kad zavrse drzavne subvencije oni se povuku , i naravno da prave svasta sada kako bi dobile nove pare i da se opet vrate. To je ta klasicna njihova posla tako to oni rade
DeleteIberia and Air europa does not serve much bigger and larger markets in Europe and they will not definitely go to Sarajevo. Could work for summer only with Vueling but whole year for sure not. And I am pretty sure Vueling will not go there for only one route in summer. They are mainly focused on Europe hubs
