NEWS FLASH
LOT Polish Airlines is continuing to reduce its operations in the region for the upcoming 2026/27 winter season, which begins on October 25 and runs until March 28 of next year. The carrier has downgraded its Warsaw services to both Podgorica and Sarajevo from year-round to summer seasonal operations, with no flights planned to either city throughout the winter. The move follows a similar decision concerning Skopje, which has also been converted into a seasonal route. Last winter, LOT maintained three weekly flights from Warsaw to both Podgorica and Sarajevo.

Do you think this move by LOT will push Air Serbia to consider keeping some flights to Toronto during the winter season as well? Considering that a lot of people from the Balkans traveling to Canada used to fly via Warsaw..
ReplyDeleteNo
DeleteNot this winter season, but perhaps next summer, if Canada allows, increase to 3x weekly, and then 1x weekly in winter 2027/28.
DeleteThey won't allow, Canada is very protectionist
DeleteI think they can maintain one weekly ORD and YYZ. This is perfect and unexpected opportunity
DeleteSarajevo dosta gubi ove zime.
ReplyDeleteWill Sarajevo even have any flights in the winter?
ReplyDeleteNot as previous winter season they are downgrades alot especially with FR
DeleteJust FR and LOT but W6 went all-year round with London and will boost frequencies.
DeletePer the director they'll introduce more routes over the winter but let's see if he's trustworthy.
15:00 And Athens if it materializes somehow
Delete"Just FR". It accounts for the majority of the winter of traffic.
DeleteI'd prefer to believe an airline when it comes to new routes than an airport director, or head of state in the Balkans
Delete@15:06 Maybe plurality (highest share) but surely not majority. 3/4 of the traffic is not FR.
