Work on the expansion of Mostar Airport’s passenger terminal is progressing, with construction of the new arrivals gate advancing. The project, which got underway in May, forms part of the airport’s efforts to increase capacity and improve passenger flow amid a rise in traffic. “Each completed segment of the works represents another step towards a more modern, functional and comfortable experience for our passengers”, Mostar Airport said, adding that it looks forward to putting the new space into use and providing travellers with a more pleasant arrival in Herzegovina.
The terminal expansion is valued at 768.000 euros and is being co-financed by the Croatian government. In addition to creating a larger and more functional terminal area and reducing congestion during peak periods, the wider project envisages new retail outlets, souvenir shops and additional food and beverage facilities. Mostar Airport has previously said improving its infrastructure is an important prerequisite for attracting new airlines and securing additional routes as it seeks to support further passenger growth.

I am again very curious why this is financed by the Croatian government?
