Slovenia has again highlighted the potential for establishing direct air services with Portugal as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral economic and tourism ties. During a meeting between State Secretary at the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport Leon Korošec and Slovenia’s Ambassador to Portugal, Mojca Nemec van Gorp, the two sides identified increased tourist flows as one of the areas with further growth potential, noting that a direct air link would make an important contribution. The issue has been raised previously at the highest political level, with Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar proposing the introduction of nonstop flights between Ljubljana and Lisbon during the Portuguese President’s visit to Slovenia in March 2025.

Would be great addition but is there enough demand between the two? I feel like there are other routes that are more needed than Lisbon.

DeleteLisbon is a great city to visit and it offers the best connections for Western Africa. Sadly their airport is operating already a few years at maximum capacity and expansion of routes is basically impossible.
DeleteLisbon is sadly almost impossible, but Porto with easyJet could do wonders.
