Air Transport World (ATW) has named Air Serbia Airline Market Leader as part of its 52nd annual Industry Achievement Awards. The carrier had previously won the accolade in 2017. ATW’s airline awards were established in 1974 to recognise excellence in the air transport industry and are well-respected across the sector for their integrity and independence, attracting hundreds of airline nominations every year. “Our panel of editor and analyst judges voted strongly in favour of Air Serbia being the 2027 ATW Airline Market Leader recipient. The Air Serbia team has worked diligently to keep growing and improving this airline, providing critical air connectivity within and beyond the Central European market. I congratulate Air Serbia and its leadership”, Karen Walker, ATW Editor-in-Chief, said.
Chile-based LATAM was selected Airline of the Year. Other award recipients include Scoot (Eco-Airline of the Year), Jet2 (Value Airline of the Year), American Airlines (Force for Good, co-presented with Airlink nonprofit), Royal Jordanian CEO Samer Majali (Leadership Excellence), Cathay Cargo (Cargo Operator), Pittsburgh International Airport (Airport of the Year), Air France-Groupe ADP (Airline-Airport Partnership) and Saudia Airlines COO Suliaman Yaqoobi (Joseph S. Murphy Award). The 52nd ATW Awards will be presented at a Gala dinner in Milan on Thursday, December 10. The dinner will be held in conjunction with the CAPA World Airline Leader Summit 2026.
Commenting on the accolade, Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said, “Being named an Airline Market Leader is a special honour for us and proof that Air Serbia, as Serbia’s national airline, is a proud ambassador for its country around the world. In a year in which we have continued to decisively expand our network and introduce new direct services to key destinations worldwide, our goal is to represent Serbia in the best possible way and ensure that it is recognised at the highest international level”. He added, “This award crowns the work of our team of dedicated professionals, who improve the quality of our services and the experience of our passengers every day, making a direct contribution to connecting the world with Serbia. I am confident that, in the period ahead, we will continue to set ambitious goals and further improve all aspects of our operations”.

Congrats
ReplyDeleteLets hope it doesn't get to their heads. JU has had a very impressive business plan over the last few years by being cautious but also proactive when an opportunity presents itself. It is a small airline that can easily get into trouble with market fluctuations.
DeleteAs proven during pandemic and further disruptions caused by conflicts during 2022, Air Serbia as a smaller airline was agile and more aggressive to quickly pivot and seize new opportunities. Examples exist even this year, as Air Air Serbia quickly replaced behemoth Ryan after their retreat from INI, and instantly replaced giant Lufthansa after their sub-brand misstep resulting in announced closure of MUC-BEG service. Market fluctuations are pain points for large airlines, new opportunities for Air Serbia. You are welcome.
DeleteAir India also deserves high rankings
DeleteWizzibot na aparatima
ReplyDeleteWhy would they be? JU is greatly sucessful in what it does. The two are not comparable
DeleteWhy!? Because!
DeleteWe all know OU is the real market leader in Europe. Lot even chose them to train their pilots!
ReplyDeleteLol
DeleteSupermarket leader...
DeleteIf only. In additon to plenty of junk, you can have some decent food in supermarket as well. Not the case in OU, especially with their "premium product"
DeleteMarket Leader for Air Serbia, now take that, Skytrax!
ReplyDeleteBravo! Many greetings from Montenegro!
ReplyDeleteAnd from Croatia as well!!!
Delete<3 <3 <3
DeleteAlways nice to get an award, concretely for which achievement is it? Who were the runners up?
ReplyDeleteAirline Market Leader: This recognizes an airline or airline Group that has stood out among its competition and established a leading position in a particular sector, which could be within a geographic region, a business sector, or another sector, in the period April 2025 end of May 2026.
DeleteOne industry award after another. Undisputed leader in Ex Yu area. Congrats Air Serbia!
ReplyDeleteBut their cabins are not standardised!
DeleteOf course they are not, ATR72 economy seat and A330 business class seat can't be standardized. English language doesn't have standard spelling for standardise/standardize but we can all get along and understand each other. Except you, you are the special case!
DeleteWell deserved!!!
ReplyDeleteIdemo dalje...
ReplyDeleteThat "ATW" is a sham, almost a criminal organization. Just look who they declared the winners.
ReplyDeleteThe way they work (nobody in the aviation industry gives a damn about them) is - get lousy airlines and get their representatives to pay 100,000 US$ to receive that rubbish award.
DeleteJust ignore him, hatred will do the rest
DeleteKing in the castle, great success!
