The ongoing expansion of Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport’s passenger terminal is on schedule and expected to be completed by May of next year. The airport is adding new gates to the C wing of the terminal building - C15, 16, 17 and 18, with landside exterior work almost completed. While gates C15 - C17 will feature airbridges, C18, unlike adjacent stands, will be a non-contact (remote) gate, meaning travellers will not use a passenger boarding bridge but will be transported to and from the terminal by bus. The stand is designed to accommodate Code C aircraft, with a maximum wingspan of 36 metres.
The ongoing project also includes the construction of the connecting section of Taxiway T, linking stand C18 to the broader taxiway system and de-icing platforms, development of new service roads to allow circulation of ground handling vehicles and equipment around the new gates, installation of a dedicated stormwater drainage system, including slot drains, underground piping, connections to the main stormwater collector and partial reconstruction of existing drainage infrastructure, installation of external lighting infrastructure, including 22-metre-high lighting masts equipped with LED floodlights, new power supply cables, control systems and obstacle lighting, as well as the construction of apron pavement structures, including reinforced concrete slabs and multi-layer aggregate foundations designed for aircraft load-bearing operations.
As part of the upgrades, four new travelators will be installed inside the terminal, two in departures and two in arrivals.

When do we start thinking of moving Jat tehnika and building a second terminal opposite to this one?

Deletewow that first photo of the entire airport building is one shot is great!
ReplyDeleteand you can see the new JU building and new part of the aviation museum too
DeleteEx-yu, is there any chance to get information about long overdue food and retail facilities opening inside the Terminal? Current offer is pathetic and overcrowded. New JU Lounge even did not start with construction... Waiting on ''construction permit'' is bizzare argument, as some shops were even furnished a year ago. On all my inquires about this topic, BEG simply remove posts and ignore to answer, such it is ''state secret''?
ReplyDeleteNecessary construction and occupancy approvals have not been finalised. Many commercial units were initially developed to a shell-and-core stage under the airport's main construction permit, with individual tenants subsequently responsible for obtaining approval for their modifications. This has created discrepancies between the original approved plans and the completed premises, requiring amendments to construction permits, additional technical inspections and fire safety approvals before occupancy permits can be issued. A number of shops are also dependent on a common approval covering part of the terminal, meaning a single unresolved regulatory issue prevents multiple businesses from opening.
DeleteLike with many things. Just wait and see.
DeleteThis is a nice addition. I wonder what happens next in terms of adding more gates)stands after this expansion is completed.
ReplyDeleteMore bus gates will be needed, as well as installing new jet bridges in A5-A10 part.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, BEG airport and the new government should think about expanding more and building Terminal 3 with capacity of at least 20m passengers per year, with works over next decade. The construction of new terminal should start as soon as BEG hits 10m passengers, since the paperwork and all construction need years to be done. Second suggestion would be building T3 just like concourses in ATL airport, by moving Fire and Rescue department and JAT tehnika.
ReplyDeleteWhy move JAT Tehnika and rest when there is empty slots of land in the first picture? That is stupid
DeleteZašto paneli fasade nisu svi tamne boje, kao što je prvobitno planirano?
ReplyDeleteIsti su kao na ostatku zgrade
