Sarajevo Airport has received a proposal for the introduction of nonstop flights to Turin following discussions between Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Consulate General in Milan and the Turin Chamber of Commerce. The initiative aims to strengthen business and tourism links between the two countries. The proposal has been submitted to the airport for consideration, with its commercial viability and potential implementation to be assessed. Sarajevo Airport's only year-round service to Italy is Rome Fiumicino, operated by Wizz Air, while Ryanair maintains seasonal flights to Bergamo.

Who would fly Sarajevo - Turin? If you look at the airport's destination map, it has exactly zero connections to the exyu countries, I doubt Sarajevo is the first place where the money's at for them.
ReplyDeleteA route with a non sense at all
DeletePeople selling football travels now that Bosnian rising star Kerim Alajbegović is playing for Juventus. Some Juventus fans might also take the journey the other way around. It has happened earlier that a sportsperson becoming a star at some team attracts people to visit his/her home country.
DeleteBut one can reach Turin quite easily from Malpensa in 1hour 45.
Delete@16:24 SJJ doesn't have flights to Malpensa, only Bergamo.
Delete@16:26 I know, I mean for flights to the region in general. For Sarajevo i can't see Turin working in the slightest if it cannot support Malpensa flights.
Delete@15.57 and thats how flight routes are planned ... around rising football stars. The stuff you read ...
Delete@16:50 As a travel agency you must be able to provide your customers with something. There's a reason why trips to London are easier to sell for agencies than trips to Košice. London as a destination simply has more to offer than Košice. There are travel agencies specialised in sports journeys, and some of those might see opportunities now. Alajbegović might also be considered more than just a rising star in football (I only wrote "rising star" because of his age of 19). He's a first team player at Juventus. Sarajevo and Turin also have in common that both cities have hosted Winter Olympics, 1984 and 2006 respectively.
