Air Serbia will increase capacity on its Belgrade - Split service this winter. In addition to the previously announced increase from two to three weekly flights, the airline will deploy the 108-seat Embraer E190 aircraft on the route each Friday from February 5. The remaining two weekly services will continue to be operated by the 72-seat ATR72-600 turboprop. The E190 is also scheduled on select dates in November and December, including yesterday, November 2, and December 21. Further equipment changes remain possible.

Cool. Did not expect that. A question for the internet community - Who uses these connections? There are not many Serbs around Split and Croats in Belgrade and around the Belgrade, right? Are these people business guests?
ReplyDeleteProbably a lot of transfers through Belgrade.
DeleteAnd alot of people have family in both countries.
DeleteThere are lots of folks of Dalmatian origin in Belgrade, actually.
DeleteWhen I flew to Split off season, there was a big group of Danish guys who went to Split to a bachelor party via Belgrade. How random, but I guess SAS does not fly to Split in winter, or JU was just more convenient for them
DeleteIt is fascinating how history still has such a strong impact on ex-Yugoslav intra-routes. Routes that were once commonplace and are now gradually making a comeback.
ReplyDeleteYeah because BEG is a regional hub. Or are they flying to places like CLJ and RMO due to history's strong impact as well?
DeleteNo need to be mean or bitchy. The comment at 14:41 was totally correct.
Delete@JSG. Yes, its very good that air communications in the EXYU space have managed to develop.
