Royal Jordanian has put the launch of its planned Amman - Belgrade service on hold, removing tickets from sale following several changes to its proposed starting date. The airline has not confirmed the route’s cancellation but says its introduction remains under review, with no revised launch date determined. In a statement to EX-YU Aviation News, the carrier said, “Royal Jordanian continues to review its network expansion plans, including the proposed Amman - Belgrade service. At this stage, bookings for the route are not available, and a revised launch date has yet to be determined”. The Oneworld member has modified its launch date several times, bringing the inaugural both forward and pushing it back in light of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. The latest launch date for the two weekly service was set for March 31, 2027.

JU should just try 2x weekly at this point
ReplyDeletePlease no, US bombed Iran again today, it makes zero sense to fly anywhere in the middle east now, planes for Dubai are empty, let alone for Amman

DeleteΑΜΜ has been growing A LOT steadily for many years now.
Despite the wart of the US with Iran.
JU has the ideal aircraft now for destinations like AMM, CAI, BEY etc.
Send an E-jet a couple of days a week there, ideally overnight when both the aircraft utilization is low and the return flight to BEG will catch all the morning departures to the region and the rest of Europe.
^ you realise that the main target audience of these flights are Serbian tourists? You realise that no one wants to go there now?
Delete@11:49 you act like its that simple.
Delete@Anonymous 12:01
DeleteNo it is not targeted mainly to Serbian tourists.
It is targeted to people living in Jordan and its diaspora in Europe.
That is the target audience of flights to AMM, CAI, BEY from all over Europe, us included.
The Royal Jordanian route is almost entirely targeted at Serbian tourists which was even said by Royal Jordanian when they did an event in Belgrade for the new route a year ago. I'm sorry to say but the Jordanian diaspora in Serbia and the region is rather small.
DeleteBetter safe than sorry.
DeleteWhy would one be sorry?
DeleteThis becomes funny
ReplyDeleteWell certainly it must be annoying for anyone who actually booked a flight. Not a route that is going to bloom in 2027 sadly.
Deleteof course, due to instability of that region, tourists went somewhere else.
ReplyDeletefriends went to Petra 2 months ago, and once crowded place, now its like on rainy days, there are tourists but not in numbers you'd expect in September.
Досадили су више.
ReplyDeleteNije njima lako. Žive u prilično kompleksnom regionu.
DeleteThey canceled all bookings, including those in September 2027. They did it one day after Serbian elections. Though, also there was slaugher of Orthodox Christians a few days earlier in one town 100km from Amman. So I do now know which of these triggered it.
ReplyDeleteThe Serbian government had nothing to do with their arrival in Belgrade, so your conspiracy does not fit in with that narrative. The fact that you think someone at Royal Jordanian was sitting late into the night on Sunday watching Serbian election results and then on Monday morning cancelled the route is truly bizarre. MOF advises Serbian citizens to refrain from all travel to Jordan
Delete@13:54 It has nothing to do with elections. It has all to do with they fact the flights would be bloody empty as things stand.
DeleteThey did the same with Thessaloniki as they planned flights there too.
ReplyDeleteI told you from the start this had route no chance!
ReplyDeleteIt defiantly has a chance once it gets going. It'll get there once day.
DeleteOf course it has chance, not only with RJ and/or JU from BEG, but with FR from ZAG as well, once US weapons industry sell enough within the ME region
DeleteYep. FR from Zagreb and Wizz from Belgrade would be a dream for the route in the future.
DeleteYeah crazy demand from ZAG to Jordan
DeleteFR can create demand. Dont you worry about that sir.
