Podgorica Airport handled 94.950 passengers in March, representing a decrease of 4.9% on the same month last year. It marks the second consecutive month of declining figures following a flat January. The main culprit for the decline was Ryanair, which suspended all but one of its routes to Podgorica over the winter season and cut 54% of its capacity in March. Pegasus Airlines also contributed to the slump. During the first quarter, Podgorica Airport welcomed 255.949 travellers through its doors, down 4.9% on last year or 13.050 fewer passengers.

The only airport in ex-Yu negatively impacted by Ryanair.
ReplyDeleteWell there is also Tuzla and we can also add Nis. Both airports were dumped by FR causing serious decline in passenger numbers.
DeleteRyanair's departure had no impact on Tuzla. They only flew there for a few months. Ryanair didn't "dump" Nis. It still flies there and has more routes in winter than it has from Podgorica. Both Nis and Tuzla were impacted by Wizz Air, not Ryanair.
DeleteAnd does someone really think that airline like BA will launch flights to this airport ? Comeone lets be honest that would never happend with results like this.
