Adria adds second CRJ700

Wednesday, January 20, 2016

Adria Airways has added a second Bombardier CRJ700 to its fleet. The seventy-seat jet, registered S5-AAY, entered commercial service this week. It previously operated for Lufthansa before it was stored in late 2014. It is thirteen years old. The new addition brings Adria's total fleet size to twelve aircraft, with the Slovenian carrier to retire is last remaining CRJ200 soon. Late last year, Adria's CEO, Mark Anžur, said the airline was looking at adding two jets to its fleet in 2016, with the Airbus A319 being a likely option.

Comments

  1. Adria should reevaluate retiring their CRJ200 just yet.

Unless it needs heavy maintanance, it should be pretty cheap to operate considering it is owned by them (i think). Fuel is extremely cheap, so it might make sense keeping it around for a little longer until fuel rises up again. Now that Iranian oil will be on the market soon, fuel might stay low for a long time.
